Re: MS3Pro, 2jz dyno results Volvo 940
The car is running fantastic! Only 3 issues. Slight idle oscillation when settling into close closed loop. Small initial value change needed in the iat/idle table and 4th gear cruise around 1500/1600rpm I get some weird leaning going on that causes just a little surging. I bet it's the cams that cause this the most
Other than that, keeping it low key as a friend and I are driving it to the megameet

Yes, cam sensor ground is on the firewall side, that's the side with hump in it for clocking it correctly. The same hump position is ground for the crank sensor

Gm air and coolant temp. I tried Toyota coolant but found trying to get the scaling correct was tough, so I swapped to gm

Re: MS3Pro, 2jz dyno results Volvo 940
I tried my best to use the Toyota stepper motor, just had a hard time with it. Moved over to a Pwm motor from a mustang and absolutely happy with the results and actually recommend and only install the Pwm on any setup I'm involved with
Heck, I'm building an LS3 and modded the the throttle body to setup for a Pwm motor!

cool ill look into those as well
Re: MS3Pro, 2jz dyno results Volvo 940
Isn't the leaning caused by the injectors going non linear?
Wonder if MS has a function of minimum pulse width these days?
Better to have it running a bit too rich than to have it stalling because it's lean!

Re: MS3Pro, 2jz dyno results Volvo 940
I'll capture a lot of this over the weekend. The main reason I suspect cam reversion is while cruising in 6th I can rpm down into the 1500/1600 region at around 45/50mph and I can hear some funniness in the exhaust

Re: MS3Pro, 2jz dyno results Volvo 940
I put the sensor in the upper water neck like the stock. If have to look, I bet I welded a 3/8 fitting in place of the stock threads

Re: MS3Pro, 2jz dyno results Volvo 940
Looks like your making progress. I'm actually mid wire on an LS3 swapped 240Z I'm building and from what I have read, that sensor carries the same resistance as the older pipe plug setups
