With the staged injection being 3x3 batch fire, I ran out of injector at 23psi where as full sequential I was able to run 29psi. So before I went and redid the fuel system with more pump and larger injectors, I thought I would do a fuel test. Ive been running E85, but the fuel is not local, so I have to keep jugs on hand. But the local fuel dock has 110 leaded at the pump and has 116 in the 5 gallon pail, and the best part is, I drive by them everyday going to work.

So Thursday I did some back to back spool testing. I have closed loop boost working pretty good so I targeted 280kpa or 26psi for the test. I was quite surprised by the results in with particular setup. The testing included 3 pulls on E85, then with nothing changed but the alternate reqfuel, I changed out to 110 TurboBlue. I was hesitant to run the leaded fuel for fear of losing spool, but I found I was wrong.

E85 spooled 26.8psi at 4311

110 spooled 26.3psi at 4264

Now, it did take 1/4 of a second longer and surprisingly the violent hit I get on E85 is gone and I can run more boost in each gear now because of it.

EGT's did come up 80*, so Ill reimpement the water/meth kit.

So today I plan to buy some C16 and get it filled up in the car and polish off the tune with the meth spray.

Hopefully soon I can get to the Dyno.

Got swithced over to the sweet oarnge juice (116 octane) and the car feels just as strong as e85. Took just a slight global fuel change and the tune is just a bit rich till I can get to the Dyno.

at 26psi Im right at 57% duty cycle, so theres more than enough injector now.

So lucky to have all those kind of fuels present!

I live in the Netherlands and we only have 95ron and some pumps with 98ron

Whoop, whoop! VERY happy with the results. Thanks for all the support that made this happen. I Drove 2.5 hours to the dyno and back, averaged 24mpg and only burned about a half gallon of race fuels in 10 4th gear pulls.

Not bad for a Daily.

Made some small changes, went back for a little checkup and made a realization that my turbine housing is to small. My drive pressures are through the roof and we couldnt make any more than just over 25psi out the top.

So Im going to move from a .84 twinscroll to a 1.0 housing, finally upgrade my 3x12x22 intercooler and move a slightly larger spring in the WG.

Ill end up regearing the car too. From the old setup I still have the 4.30 setup in there and I have a 4.11 set on the way.

This thing is a hoot to drive and with the new RA1 rear tires it will stick 20psi in first (thats all it will build) and take all I can give it on the freeway. This rearend setup is really working well..

Car did 770/638 at 25psi

Ive been testing the new Boost code and works AWSOME!

I need to update the pics for my car, new front facia and wheels this year

Anyways, just got home from the dyno, made 815/692 with a 30psi spike and 27psi out the top

I'm totally histatic with the results. At this point I'm out of exhaust housing as boost duty wasn't picking up boost around redline like it should, and I'm sitting right at 80% injector duty cycle

I'll get a video posted soon

Awesome result! Did you have it tuned by English at the end or finetuned yourself?

On the tuning side. English ran the dyno and theottled the car, I sat shotgun with the laptop and did all the tuning with suggestions on the timing map from them. We think we're a degree low on the small did after peak tq but the results made me very happy so I called it done

I do mostly street tuning and use the dyno for timing. I'm glad to see after about 10k miles and over 2 years now on MS everything is still in check. This car is so much fun to drive from idle to full boost

Current pic of the car

Edit, photobucket is being dumb so click the pic if the whole car doesn't show up

Staged injection running dual fuel. Pretty neat. I have it start staging at 135kpa and staged by 170kpa. Took a little work in the ve table to make the transition smooth, but well worth the effort for the spool/power that ethynol gives us.

I just sorted out closed loop boost and really like the way it works.

Ive also split my tables up and am running the table switching feature using rpm. I made the table switch point at 3000rpm, so I have a fantastic cruise table with light boost, and then mainly a full boost table. Its in theory a 26x31 map table. Tuning under boost with that amount of resolution is pretty neat and I was able to scale rpm break points around peak tq in the 200rpm range.

Still tuning, today will be 260kpa, then 280, and 300. Thats My stopping point till I can get on the dyno to fine tune the spark map.
Looked at your map how you like the table switching looks like it would be awesome for tuning cruise and boost since there is more resolution, does it switch over smoothly on the transition also how did you run the second set of injectors?

The transition from ve1 to ve3 is seamless. Not sure if it's posted, but I'm staging at 135kpa with a 5kpa hysteris over to 116/30% e98 mix now

To help with day to day tuning and to help with differences in load on the dyno I'm using the new loop1 feature now to also reqfuel switch at 135kpa so once the ve table is setup, I simply change the alternate reqfuel to make up for any load differences or fine tuning that day

I like the way the table switch and staged injection all work together

I'm running the primary's sequential and using the staged I and J outputs for the secondarys. There batch Fire but I don't notice anything
