Those who went to the MegaMeet last year may have remembered when I tried to bring this truck only to have it grenade a TH350 transmission.
Well, now it's got a 4L60E swap. We just finished up dyno tuning it, and it made 241 hp and 245 lb-ft of torque to the wheels.
Here's the basic details.
Engine: 4.8 LR4 out of a 2007 Chevy cutaway van that had previously been used as a U-haul truck.
Engine mods: Not much. Cable throttle body conversion using an earlier throttle body, cone filter on the throttle, 2010 Camaro manifolds, Flowmaster mufflers
Transmission: 1990s era 4L60E
Electronics: MS3-Pro controlling the engine, MicroSquirt V3.0 controlling the transmission
Pretty crazy that Chevy's been fitting three quarter ton vans with motors that make peak power at 5400 RPM!

Yup it is. Still beats any variant of the 4.3 V6 that was/is the base engine though.Matt Cramer wrote: Pretty crazy that Chevy's been fitting three quarter ton vans with motors that make peak power at 5400 RPM!

And oh yeah, very nice setup with the truck Matt. I'll bet it's a hoot to drive.
