1971 Ford Bronco MSPNP 351W

Did a 2 1/2 year frame off build on this guy, just got it up and running a few weeks ago. Entered it in a side by side drag race up a ski hill last weekend and finished 2nd in my class. Maybe would have had a shot a winning if I was in the other lane as the right one had a bigger jump and I almost rolled it.

So far been very happy with MS, this is my first FI build and I had no real trouble tuning it in the short amount of time I had to make it race ready.


351W, stock 1996 short block
ported junk E7 heads
Lunati Hyd. roller cam
big single plane intake with a holley 4150 TB

Running MSPNP for 87-93 mustang
30 lb injectors
no idle air control at this time, just using cold advance and idle advance to help with idle and it works really well.
Right now running a TFI dist. and coil but hoping to switch to EDIS at some point.

Any reason you wouldn't go with LS coils? They give you more flexibility and control than EDIS.

I agree with Laminar; assuming you have enough dwell time throughout the rev range, switching to direct coil control of the dizzy would give you better spark control than EDIS.

I thought about LS coils....just need to research what needs to be done to run them. I think I have to use a Hall effect sensor and then use 4 of my optional outputs to drive the coils.

There are dizzy wheel mods and drop-in dizzy replacement crank angle sensors. A proper missing tooth crank wheel is the most accurate, but depending on the engine can be a real brat to install.

I believe your MSPNP is based on the Microsquirt Module, so you have two dedicated spark channels, and you'll use up the ALED and WLED option pins for the other two channels.

I have a 36-1 wheel and vr sensor installed already, couldn't get edis to work...keep resetting..... Seems others are having the same issue so maybe someone will figure it out.

I was told my mspnp can't take the vr signal directly without some mods and it would be easier to run a Hall effect. I am using one of my outputs to drive a cooling fan relay so I would have to figure that out also. No biggie right now...pretty happy with it as is.

?! There should be a VR circuit on the board. The mods involved should just be jumpers ...
