Zenoha 32cc 2 stroke 19K rpm

Post by ol boy »

We got a Zenoha 32cc 2 stroke running today. Seen a high of 19,750 rpm. Roughly 3ms per crank rev. Using a microsquirt module. Just nuts.

Nice. I think before this install, the only time we'd had an install get within spitting distance of 20,000 RPM was driving the trigger wheel with an electric motor.

Whats funny is the 19K was only at 70ish% throttle. We have a better load on it today. Slowly creeping back up to that number. I'd like to see over 20K. Poor injector is firing every 3ms, deadtime would account for over 33% of the period.

What's it using for a crank sensor and trigger wheel?

The motor has a flying magneto thing and a coil simular to a lawn mower. We placed a bipolar hall pickup in the aluminum housing. I might try pulling the coil and try driving a CDI but I'm not sure what will happen at 18k rpm.

This work was done when I was working for https://hfeinternational.com/ I customer in San Diego was using the engine for a quadcopter to generate electrical power to drive the motors. We fitted the EFI system to the engine.

Nice work! Looks like the question of the MS2's max real world RPM is still undetermined. :D
