VR Log taken with megatunix
Still on the never ending search, took these logs today using megatunix, done at approx 800 rpm tick over on a v8 using a 36-1 wheel - do they look ok?

Point it out - I don't see it. You are looking for a tooth about twice the height of the previous one.

So could I be getting to the cause of my troubles? And Ive just sent my ecu off for testing so cant check for a few days
So, If my ECU passes its tests with phil, I shall get a new VR sensor (I am currently on a scrap yard unit).

At what crank does the missing tooth pass the VR sensor?
On my Rover V8 I followed EDIS8 alignment and used 50BTDC, but when I tried the same on a Cadillac Northstar V8 (with only a flexplate and no flywheel) I had extreme difficulty getting a reliable signal. Changing the phasing to around 80-90 deg (and trigger numbers) allows it to work ok. The Northstar was extreme because of high compression and no flywheel.

Hi James,
I have used the settings as on this post
It would be great if you could cast your eye over them. I think it passes at 70°BTDC?
It also lists my wheel settings.
I also run a slush box (its an off roader) so only have a flex plate.
Thanks[/url]

You have a convertor though?istruggle2gate11 wrote:I also run a slush box (its an off roader) so only have a flex plate.
My engine is on a stand, so just flex, no convertor.

Wash your mouth out boy! At least it runs fine on fuelling so you already have a better EFi system than when you started, it just seems the ignition that's the problem. The missing missing tooth (!) would certainly confuse the ECU for ignition - the trouble is RV8's will run at any angle of spark, when I swapped dizzies me and a mate had the new one in a cylinder out and the d*** thing would still start and run, no matter how far round we twisted it it would not stop running! It's almost worse than having one that is picky as at least you know when you're way out 'cos it won't playwent in driving on the old lucas flapper - might be reverting back at this rate
