Megasquirt n`spark 0.29t on tunix
I was wandering if I could run megasquirt n´spark 0.29t on megatunix. Since I´m running megatune on an apple with windows 2000 emulated, this because the imac doesn´t have serial port. So I was thinking on deleting the old OS 9 and installing ubuntu or OSX. So if any one can answer me if i could use MS n´Spark 0.29t, and which OS to use. On the ms extra section someone told me that versions from 0.29q to 0.29w use the same comunication protocols so it should work.

It works fine on OS-X (need to usethe darwinports method to getthe needed pre-req's installed) and it also works fine on PPC ubuntu as I tested both, since I'm the author of it.oraculox wrote:I was wandering if I could run megasquirt n´spark 0.29t on megatunix. If you are more familiar with linux, there's a couple less steps to getting it installed on linux than OS-X. All depends on your preferences. All features are supported on all OS's (Linux (x86, x86_64, ppc, ppc64, sparc, sparc64), Windoze, OS-X ,etc)

No, shouldn't have any issues.... as long as the adapter is supported (and nearly all are)oraculox wrote:I have an imac with os9 so i have to install a new os, so if you say its easier on ubuntu i will isntall ubuntu. Plus, i hate mac os´s. the cuestion is, since i have no serial port, i´m using usb-serial adapter. Will i have any problem with this on ubuntu?
If the machine is real slow that might be the only issue.

OK you're getting a little confused..oraculox wrote:I haven´t used megatunix yet. so i was wondering how do i load 0.29t version on megatunix(ubuntu), is it as simple as megatune where you select it from the confifurator or do i have to compile it along with the program?. If that is the case how do i do that
Megatunix is like megatune. a Tuning SOFTWARE. 029t is a firmware version which gets loaded onto your megasquirt box (once).
The difference with megatunix versus megatune is that it's easier to use once it's installed..
Here's how to install it on ubuntu

Once it is installed, you run it, set your comm port and it'll detect and adapt to the ECU for you. MegaTune requires manual configuration, megatunix does NOT.
