Win2k install problem

Post by Bill Shurvinton »

I'm being thick here, but I have installed the packages as recommended and get the error 'procedure entry point g_datalist_set_flags could not be located in the dynamic link library libglib-2.0-0.dll' Is this a path error or is something in the wrong place, as the referenced dll is in place?

Do you have gaim installed? or the gimp? Some other GTK+ based apps shipped with a privatized GTK+ release and DLL's that hoses any OTHER gtk+ apps. in that case you need to uninstall the offending app. in some cases, uninstalling the GTK+ runtime and re-installing it cleans up the issue. (don't ask me why, as I donno, it's winblows)

the runtime I tell everyone to use, installs ALL it's stuff into C:\gtk, so if you have other gtk or gdk dlls in c:\windows\* then you have a conflict.

I do have gimp, but I was getting this error before then, and installed a clean gtk+, but it installed into c:\program files\common files. So I will remove that and put a clean version in.

Sorted. What I don't understand is what I did wrong as I thought I downloaded gtk+ from the links on your webpage. Must have been brain fade.

Thanks. Playtime can commence.

Cool beans. NOTE: the forthcoming 0.9.11 release should reduce CPU usage, esp under windows..
