Request for help getting BT serial set up in Linux

Post by Keithg »

Guys,

I have everything working under Linux (Ubuntu 9.10) except my bluetooth serial. The problem is that I want the serial port (RN-41) set up in auto master mode so that it is paired with and only with my BT dongle. . Under blueman, i See the SPP, but I think this is the port that windows labels as com3 which is dead and all the outgong information from the RN-41 is on what windows calls com4. I cannot see 2 ttys on the device and actually, I see nothing when I do a scan. If there is anyone that can help, I would appreciate it.

The dongle is a standard, the serial port is RN-41http://www.rovingnetworks.com/documents ... oth-um.pdf I have it set in SM,3 mode which works beautifully under XP.

Does megatunix work over it on WinXP? I unfortuantely don't have any bluetooth serial devices (have some laptops with BT however). I'll see what I can do to get a module for testing. (funds are tight, may take a while)
