Error Message

Post by joelittel »

Very new to all of this, and already stumped.

I keep getting this error message and can not figure out what I'm doing wrong, or how to fix my problem.

I'm allowing Tuner Studio to detect my ECU and choosing the option it provides me, but within a few minutes of connecting this error will pop up.

What am I missing?

What kind of connection are you using?

In the picture it appears TS is getting nothing for a signature.

I have a 9 pin serial out of the ecu connected to a cable which is connected to a converter that plugs into my usb port on a lenovo.

All but the lenovo were purchased from diyautotune.com

Is this consistent or sporadic?

Are you using the thing USB cable between the adapter and the laptop, or plugging the adapter straight into the laptop?

Its quite consistent. I've tried using the thin USB cable as well as a 9 pin serial cable and get the error with both.

That is probably good and a sign it is not a noise issue.

Can you capture a COMM Debug log.

- Close TS
- Delete TunerStudioAppDebug.txt
- Start TS
- Turn on Comm Debug under the Communications menu
- Open your project, let it try to connect.
- When you get the error message, close it and close TS.

Post / Send your TunerStudioAppDebug.txt

That will make it easier to see what is going on.

2 Things:
Have you tried the stable TS? Does it do it?

In your Comm Debug, it appears TS never did get a valid response to the signature request, I can figure out how it could do that, especially consistently.
So would like to see your project.

Can you send / post a Project Backup?

Having trouble trying to attach my project backup. Even when zipped the file is too big. I've attached my msq in case that will help.

You can send it to support <at> efianalytics. com

But, try the 3.0 version 1st, I think I found a way to make this happen in the beta and that was resolved.

I downloaded the 3.0 version last night and will give it a shot tomorrow.

I will also send my project file to the above address tomorrow afternoon.

Every time I use Auto Tune my car gets more fun to drive, thanks again for all that you do.
