Ok, let me know what you find. I still haven't been able to check out the project. I'm sort of crippled this week. I am away from home and have my normal dev laptop with an MS, but it doesn't have any internet connectivity. So I can't get anything on or off it.

Sorry for being to long to report back :-)

I have made a little video clip from my laptop, this is the fastest one yet getting online http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JahqvDrOhaQ

As for my usb-serial cabel I use one og thise http://media.thg.dk/DAT/pic/m/50210.JPG

I have tried some more testing with the bluetooth, but I cant get it to work with TS, it works perfektly with MT. I use the IOgear bluetooth adaptor!

LT401Vette wrote:Whatis a while? 15 seconds or minutes?
Does test connection work any better if you go the from the communications menu after opening a pre-existing project? Does that initiate it going online?

What usb cable are you using?

I would go ahead and try the bluetooth, but don't edit the ini file. I actully do most of my testing via bluetooth. The app should tune itself to the bluetooth timings. Try unplugging the usb serial plug first in case that is what is causing the slow connections.

I am sort of remote this week, my only connection to the internet is via blackberry :P

Yeah something is certainly hanging there; it looked like about 40 seconds from when you opened the project. But what was od, was that once the dash loaded, it was already online and running. :?: That isn't normal either. When working correctly, It should tell you it is online almost immediately, but the the gauges won't come online until you see the status bar sweep across. That is because TSMS does a full memory read of the unit when it goes online, so everything is local. But for you, it didn't show any sign of this, it just sat there way too long, then poof gauges loaded and running.

I saw you zoom in on the bottom left corner while it was hanging, what was the message there?

I just ordered a whole bunch of usb cables to test with, I can't quite make out the model of yours in the picture, what is it and I'll order one of those too.
I can't say That will recreate the problem though as you are also having trouble with the bluetooth using IOGear... :( That is what I am already using here. I am running that against MS2 though, I guess I haven't really tried it against MS1, I'll have to give that a shot. It's just a bit of a pain to switch the baud back and forth. For me if I have my bluetooth dongle plugged into my laptop, it does cause a delay even if I am connecting via a solid cable on a different com port. More on the order of 3-5 seconds though...

Any other usb peripherals connected to your machine? I'm wondering if it is hanging on something else.

I did find a couple more calls to the serial layer in TSMS that could cause a scan of some ports and removed them.

I dont know what model my adaptor is, but the driver I use for windows says Prolific.

That I was zooming on was just to show that the project name says ready and online!

I think I will try finding another serial-usb adaptor anyway, so I can see if that make any diffence!

The USB things I have connected is my bluetooth doongle, maybe thats why its so slow to connect because the bluetooth doongle makes alot of comm ports. Samtime I use the adaptor, that makes a comm port as well!

hi
just going through getting ready to try it on my charger and noticed a couple of things

1.when I try to open acceleration wizard it has error message "std_accel not found in current config"

2.when you press f1 for help it only works once, then pulls the same help menu no matter what page your on
I have ms1 exta 29v4 and I imported my msq into ts
I love the gauses and have waited a long time for them
great work

std_accel is just missing, it should be in the next release. I sort of had a setback here as i decided i didn't like it and am now creating a new widget for display.

I'll check into the F1 thing, thanks!

Kaas, I think you will be all set on the next release. I have figured out how to stop all port scans :)
The only problem is it disables me being able to do a port scan when i want to, at least in process.... I'll figure out something for this eventually.

1st I highly recommend you get on 0.961 as there was a bug in 0.96's Standard Constants dialog that can corrupt your tune.

But I don't think I there was a fix for this between 0.96 and 0.961 and i just tried it on my local 0.961 and it works ok. So, I'm probably going to need to see you TunerStudioLogFile.txt from your install directory.

Kaas, Have you had a chance to try 0.97 and see if that fixes your hang on startup?
