Indicators for user defined outputs

Indicators for user defined outputs

Post by xrattiracer »

Its not obvious to me how I would go about creating an indicator for a user defined output, any clues?
In this case, I am wanting to have an indicator that shows if my radiator fan is running or not, which is controlled by output JS11.

This is temporary, there will be a UI for adding output Channels, but for now you would still have to edit the ini file to create the output channel. Once there is an outputChannel for what you are looking for the rest is simple enough through the UI.
Then add an indicator with a right click while in designer mode, and set the OutputChannel to whatever it is you want.

For your fan, the real key is to know what he logical expression is, which for a fan is usually based on a bit being set in one of the portx outputs.

but to have any chance of giving you that, I need to know what firmware you are running.

Ahh ok. If there is no built-in functionality for it yet then I am satisfied with that answer since it is basically just a question that came up while i was playing around with things :) I had envisioned there being output channels that mapped to the various ports as labeled on the MS board or something similar and was confused when I didnt find them.
In this particular case it is connected to port PA0/JS11 and is MS2-Extra 2.0.1
