inc. files?

inc. files?
Forgive me if it's been asked/answered already. I didn't see it anywhere.
So is there no need for .inc files for TunerStudio to have the correct calibrations for IAT and CLT? Does it just grab them from the MS itself?
Also, with MT there was always that discrepancy between MT and the actual AEM gauge for AFR. We were able to get them closer by editing the lambasensors.ini file. I notice my AFR gauge in TS is off from my AEM gauge, is there a way to correct it?

Re: inc. files?
It works much the same as Megatune, for MS2 it pretty much all comes from the MS unit, but for MS1 you need the inc files.
TunerStudio supports the same inc files as MegaTune, but the placement is a little different. I will have a GUI to set them, it just isn't there yet.
For now, just put your calibrated inc files in the sub folder to your project called "inc".
So it would be something like
My Documents\TunerStudioProjects\MyCar\inc
for a windows machine.
The standard GM throttleFactor.inc and other base inc files are under the application installation folder \inc, but anything in your project folder will override those.
If you want to change the calculation for your AEM, it is the same lambdaSensors.ini file as MegaTune. You will find it under the application installation folder in the inc sub folder. On windows the default location would be:
C:\Program Files\EFIAnalytics\TunerStudioMS\inc
You could just copy the one you edited for MegaTune over. I don't think it is checking your project folder inc file first for this one, I can't remember for sure without checking (I wrote this part of the app about a year and a half ago). But I should make it do that.

Hi Phil,
Do we copy all the inc. files in the mtCfg file to the .inc file in TSMS? I have (4) .inc files named throttlefactor, thermfactor, matfactor, and airdenfactor.

Re: inc. files?
throttleFactor.inc is created when you calibrate your TPS, so TSMS will take care of that.
thermFactor.inc and matFactor.inc are the ones you need to move over.
I'm not sure what firmwares might reference airdenFactor.inc, I did a quick scan and don't see a reference form any of the MS1 base, MSnS-extra, MSII base or MSII-Extra firmwares. I wouldn't worry about that one.

And remember you only need to copy these ini's over if you are using an MS1, have non-gm sensors and have re calibrated using easyTherm.

Re: inc. files?
I've just started using MS & Tuner Studio and noticed that my DIY Techednge Wideband is reading different in TS vs my display. I'm about .20 volts off. I've updated WBlambda100MOT.inc and placed it in the C:\Program Files\EFIAnalytics\TunerStudioMS\inc directory, but I still get the incorrect readings and not the correct ones.
I also updated the .inc file for MLV and it works perfect!
Any ideas?

Re: inc. files?
Try putting your updated inc file in the inc sub dir of the project folder. Not sure if this will do anything, but I'll try to think some more. MLV and TunerStudio use the same math parser and inc reader, so if it is finding the same file, it should give the same results. It sounds like there is some other factor being over looked.
I will be a bit remote from connectivity for a few days so my responses may be a bit slow.

Re: inc. files?
I have it in both directories and nothing... The WBlamda100MOT.inc file is quite different from the TechEdge_DITwbo2 file that MLV uses..
Still lost...

Yeah... I've just started playing with both in the last 2-3 days and I get the same issue in both.LT401Vette wrote:This should be, but Just to be sure; You get the same results in MegaTune?
Basically neither is reading the new .inc file I have created. I even tried changing the file name in the lamdasensors.ini and I still get the same wrong numbers on the dashboard.

Re: inc. files?
Reading back through again, in MLV it is right using the TechEdge_DIYwbo2.inc?
I think I'm getting what you were first saying. Sorry, I already had too much wine....
Have you tried replacing the WBlambda100MOT.inc in TunerStudio with TechEdge_DIYwbo2.inc? In TunerStudio I used the same inc files as MegaTune, now I sort of remember a reason I had to change it out in MLV. I'm thinking I need to change the lambdaSensors.ini to use TechEdge_DIYwbo2.inc instead.
I just always get worried that there is some reason for WBlambda100MOT.inc, I doubt someone made that up, was there an earlier version that that works for?
Anyway, it would be appreciated if you can try copying TechEdge_DIYwbo2.inc to TunerStudio's WBlambda100MOT.inc and see if that fixes it.

Phil, If I remember correctly airdenfactor is created by Easytherm after you input the found resistances @ the requested temperatures.LT401Vette wrote:I'm not sure what firmwares might reference airdenFactor.inc, I did a quick scan and don't see a reference form any of the MS1 base, MSnS-extra, MSII base or MSII-Extra firmwares. The throttle factor that was created by TSMS is in the projectCfg folder. Do I copy the needed .inc files to the same folder or to the inc folder?

Re: inc. files?
The 8.79 might indicate it is finding the file but choking on the content.
Kurt
I have changed it for future release to check in the following order:
- [projectDir]/inc
- [projectDir]/projectCfg
- [applicationDir]/inc
So, it will work as originally intended with the inc folder for inc files , but will still look in the projectCfg folder for backward compatibility. So for now put the inc files in the projectCfg folder.
Mark, if this doesn't fix you, then zip up your project folder less any log files and send it to me at p_tobin@yahoo.com, It might help me track down the problem.

Good observation, that popped a question mark in my head. I checked the code, it looks like the project inc folder got lost in the shuffle. It is was only checking in the projectCfg folder, then the application inc folder.Do I copy the needed .inc files to the same folder or to the inc folder?

Re: inc. files?
Phil,
I copied the 2 .inc files to the projectCfg folder and all is well, temps are right on the money. I did not copy the airdenfactor.inc file but I did open the file up in notepad to see what it is. It was definately created by Easytherm when I calibrated my sensors. Just wondering if we really do not need it and what it may be for?

Re: inc. files?
I am back to technology, sort of gone for a couple days.
Good it is all working....
When I looked inside I made the same determination, easyTherm made the file, but when I scanned all the ini files I have, there were no references to it. So it doesn't look like any current firmwares are using it. Copying it over won't hurt anything, but shouldn't matter.
