changing dashboard/guages??

For discussion of Phil Tobin's Tuner Studio software (Only about the tuning software itself, not about how to tune or firmware features)

Post by 95_2.4T »

Like the topic says where or how do I change the dashboard/guages. I have seen some cool looking ones that Phil did up, however I cannot figure out how to change it lol...............

Right click, check "Designer Mode", then all gauge/Indicator attributes are changed by right click:
"Properties" --> [What you want to change]

Please... Make more.. Eventually I plan to add the ability to upload your dash and view / download those uploaded by others.

The designer mode still has a few attributes that are a little more crude than I would Like. Each time one ticks me off I improve it :). But there are some trick that will help:

- You can multiple select gauges by dragging, or by pressing CTRL+Click. CTRL+Click will toggle the selection. So, if you drag to select 6 gauges, but don't want 1 of the 6 selected, Press CTRL+click it.

- If a Gauge Properties dialog is open, the values will change to what ever you click on. i.e. If you have the "Gauge Text" dialog open, each time you click on a gauge, the test will change to the values for that gauge. This helps in dashboards where the text isn't visible on the dash itself because say it is under another gauge.

- When multi-selecting, it is the first gauge clicked that will be used for the initial value in properties dialogs. This includes color dialogs and is probably where this is the handiest :) Say you wan to give a number of Gauges the same Font Color; First set one to what you want it to be, now to apply that same color to a group:
- - Select the one with the color you want
- - Press CTRL
- - Click all the others you want to apply the color to
- - Right Click on any of the selected gauges
- - Properties --> "Gauge Colors" --> "Font Color"
- - When the Color dialog comes up, just click "Apply".

All the selected Gauges will have the Font Color of the 1st selected.

- If you have several gauges piled on top of each other and need to select one of the lower ones, the Tab button will cycle through the selected Gauges. So if you want to change the title text of a Gauge that is below another. Open the "Gauge Text" dialog and tab until you get to the one you want to Change.

I am going to get documentation out soon. I am starting to see the light for getting through the core stuff. I really want to through just a couple features that I think will be very helpful, then I'm going to spend some time getting the Help in order.

It occured to me, I answered as it you wanted to edit or create a new Dash :)

If you just want to select a different one, it is much simpler :)
Right Click:
File -> "Load Dashboard"

Then you will get a little demo of the dashboards that match your current firmware. :)

I'm sure there will be more... I'm guessing there will be some pretty cool ones made by users. those can always be added to the build. If any one comes up with a Gauge style they need to make any sort of dash, just let me know and I'll make it.

Right now I still need to do some optimizing in the new analog bar gauge painter, there are still a few places to improve it.
