Create New Project

Post by RC4U12 »

I just loaded TS in my laptop and went to "create new project" and when ECU Definition Detect i get MS/Extra format 029y3 and i thought it was suppose to be 29y4 but when i try that it warns me not right version. I dont know what the difference is..
I have it hooked up with stim and MS V3 with extra and going to run MSD6 and i want to run the ignition as listed in other posts about locking distributer ect...its not in the car right now as i brought it to work to program defualts ect..also and i did make few configuration changes with the DIY software that opens under the 029y4 version... any way do i just keep setting up ? or stop and reflash another version? what is the one i need and how do i get there..I should be able to handle it after that with :RTFM: thanks Much Jeff

TunerStudio is going by the signature returned by the firmware. 29y4 made changes to the firmware, but not to the ini. So the firmware developers left the signature and the ini the same. This is pretty common, the 29q ini is used aal the way to 29w.

In short; 29y4 uses the 29y3 ini and will show up that way. I have tried to think of a way to make this less confusing, but haven't come up with anything yet that doesn't create some sort of ongoing mapping maintenance.

nd i will just continue to make setting.. 8) is this something i should upgrade? or from your post i gather its good to go... and i think i figured out why the stim rpm doesnt work. while building it said in one of the steps to bridge one of the circuits and of course after testing i sut that bridge ..Jeff

You're probably good to go.

After you connect to the controller, the real firmware will be displayed in the title bar of the app.

Ok after setting the begining settings .I like this program..every settign you click on has the little help section and refreshes your memory from all the reading you did..and with links for more indepth if needed..Megatune does not offer this and for newbies like me who read the items then it comes time to enter the settings and actually make sense of it, is great.. thanks now i have to just tidy up the LC-1and clamp the O2 sensor and start her up.. BUT FOR ALL THE SNOW its been the worst winter on record here and more -30 on the way and already 55 inches of snow..later Jeff
