AFR gauge not working
Phil,
Having a bit of a problem with the AFR gauges.
LC-1 programmed as 0-5 10:1-20:1
TS set as INNOVATE_0_5_LINEAR "Innovate, PLX 0-5V 10-20:1 AFR"
TS version 0.986.3
My engine hasn't been running for at least 3 months, I'm confident that there's no exhaust gas left in the exhaust.
Using LogWorks (3.0) I can see my AFR is 20.8 (and slightly going up and down)
The O2 wire (Microsquirt) is connected to the yellow wire of the LC-1
In TS, The AFR gauge is not doing anything at all. Should it not display at least 20 afr?
edit:
I have just checked the analogue outputs of the LC-1 and they are working +5V at 20.8 AFR.

Re: AFR gauge not working
So you are reading 5 V on the O2 wire with actual measurement, but it is still laying flat on 10:1 on the AFR gauge?
This is with a MicroSquirt? What firmware?
Have you calibrated your AFR Table in TunerStudio?
On the Menu:
Tools --> Calibrate AFR Table

Reading 5V on the O2 yellow wire of the LC-1 (engine is not running) the AFR gauge is not moving stuck at 10 AFR.LT401Vette wrote:So you are reading 5 V on the O2 wire with actual measurement, but it is still laying flat on 10:1 on the AFR gauge?

Re: AFR gauge not working
Was it ever working?
The AFR isn't calculated by TunerStudio with MS2, it is read straight from the controller.
Try going into designer mode on the dash.
Right click
Properties --> Output Channel.
Make sure it is set to afr1
I have an LC1 in my car and it typically reads 10:1 for the 1st 20 sec or so after starting, while it is warming up. But if you are reading 5 V on the input wire, I am assuming you are letting it sit long enough to read?
Actually though, as I think about it... Even if I leave my key on for a long period without starting, I never start seeing more than 10:1 until the engine is running. If it was actually reading, I would expect what you are, it would sit on the way lean side. And if you are seeing 5V on the ego input, it should come through as 20:1.
Do you have it set to Single Wideband on the menu
Fuel Setup --> EGO control
?

Re: AFR gauge not working
Yes, this LC-1 was and is still working fine as I used it to tune my carb.LT401Vette wrote:Was it ever working?

Key is on, at least 3 min+.

I have re-programmed my LC-1 to use the default settings and set TS to use LC-1 defaults.
Now on the gauge the needle is going all the way up to nearly 19., but above the writing 'Air:Fuel Ratio' is says: 7.50
In the log, it says 7.50

Re: AFR gauge not working
I actually meant was the gauge in TunerStudio ever working... It sounds no.
But afr1 is what should be going to the log, so I am not sure there.
One word of caution.... I fix a bug in the WB calibrator in 0.986, it you calibrated it with 0.985.1, I would re-do it.
Check the output Channel for the read out that is showing 7.5.Now on the gauge the needle is going all the way up to nearly 19., but above the writing 'Air:Fuel Ratio' is says: 7.50

Do I need to edit some files or something else?

The same way as the other gauge. Go into designer mode, right click, Properties --> Output Channelwhere do you set/see this please?
It you leave the Output Channel dialog open, it will change to the output Channel of any gauge you click on.

Re: AFR gauge not working
It should be noted that with MS2 (and I assume with MicroSquirt since it's the same code), you won't get a valid O2 sensor reading with a non-running engine. Due to how the code is done, you need to have an RPM reading to get a valid O2 reading. That's true of MS2/extra as well.
