Yep, downloaded it too for the XP side, as needed to flick in and out of TachRef.exe.

I think the error dialog is different when you open a Project, without a Tune in it...I think it gives a "nice" warning AFAIR, but I was so busy trying other stuff, I just closed the window off too fast before I really saw what it said properly.

It seems I always stumble into a few issues right after i put a release out . That is why I held off on putting the new installer together.
From 0.987 to 0.987.2:
- Fixed Load Project on Startup
- Revamped Difference Check on connect to a controller. If you have an msq loaded and then connect to a controller, TS goes through ever Setting and compares the local loaded value to the Controllers value. If there are any differences, it will prompt you with a list of the different parameter names and ask if you would like to write the loaded values to the Controller. In the future I intend to bring up the different settings values side by side to see what values are in each.
- Found a problem with 1D Arrays displaying the initial value on MS2 Base code.

I think there was 1 or 2 other little things....

I`m using table switcing on a Dodge dakota with CNG

tuner studio doesn`t allow me to see "ve table 3" and "Ingition table 3" in 3d mode (tuning). The option is disabled. If i go to extended i can see them in 2d ..

Ve table 1 and IGN table 1, can be seen in 2d and 3d..

I also can`t find the table switch indicator.

Can you post an msq saved from TunerStudio? That will give me anything I need to look into it.

As near as I can tell, there is something in the app hanging under some conditions when you close the app. The app goes out of view, but doesn't actually exit. It seems to only happen sometimes and I haven't figured out yet what activity causes it. But if an instance is still running, it can not finish the upgrade on restart.

So, there are 2 ways to make it finish the upgrade:
- Log out/reboot, then run TunerStudio and it should be on the new version by the time it starts.
- Bring up Task Manager, look for a process called javaw.exe, end that process. Then start TunerStudio.

In either case you shouldn't need to have it download the update again, it should finish the upgrade once it starts without the rouge app running.

Let me know if that does it. Hopefully I can figure out what causes it to not completely exit out shortly.

Just a little feedback from a minority platform

When I updated to 0.987.2 on restart TS wouldn't detect any serial drivers etc, then hung halfway through loading the project file. So, if you quit and open TunerStudio again, everything loads OK.

Funny thing is it did the same thing with 0.987.4, it gave the error dialog "unable to find serial drivers, do you want to try and find them , yes , no" etc. Click no, and quit TS. Select, Apple Menu -->Recent Items -->TunerStudio.jar and it loads fine, even finds my old project file now...

What I'm guessing is happening to you on OSX is that when it does the update and restarts, the restart command I am using is telling it to use the RXTX bundled with TunerStudio, but in your case you are using an installed RXTX. My command line is probably breaking the reference to the installed library.

For now maybe it is best to just assume for OSX that RXTX is installed and I will try to just kick off the jar for OSX in the next release.

It's not a problem at all, I was just letting you know what is happening on OSX, I have the errors in a sytem log probably, so I could dig them out. I realise my workaround probably causes an issue, but I've checked the files and the only update to my TunerStudio folder is in your TunerStudioMS.jar, all the other stuff hasn't changed AFAIK at the moment.

PS If you want to test it first, I'll be a guinea pig, on another machine, OSX 10.4 or 10.5. What I will do this weekend, is dig out a copy of Leopard and later try and use Xcode/PackageMaker and create an install .dmg.
This might help others... the updates to TS would work the same across the board then.

A dmg would be awesome... It would make it a work right. You could probably take care of the dependencies (Java and RXTX) so I wouldn't need to distribute them for mac and they would even have normal startup icons

I found 10.5 Install DVD, and PackageMaker is a bit more complicated than I thought, so it'll take me a little longer, as I've got to read up on it.
I will add any updates to the "Testing on OSX" thread, but first I need to look at my install logs.
I am going to use the Tiger OSX10.4 PPC Cube as the guinea pig, because I can trash/uninstall files at will, and I really need TS uninterrupted on the MacBook to get the old GTS1000 running.
