Update issue/ Vista

Hey all. My version 0.985.1 is trying to auto update. It is downloading restarting and saying i have 9 days to update before tuner studio goes buy buy. Now i have tried to update it twice with no luck. I did try shutting down the Java app in task manager. Did nothing to help the problem at hand. Looked around a bit for a post with this problem in it and didn't find anything. Any info or pointing in the right direction would be of great help.

Vista has an interesting issue, sometimes... It depends on your security settings.
If you are not running an application as an administrator, vista fakes it when things are written to the app directory. It lets the app think it is writing to the app dir, but it actually has it written to an aliased user dir.

This is what happens to Auto Update, it detects a new version, downloads it, but it doesn't really go to the install dir. So when you restart you are still on the old version.

I have a plan to fix this, but until I get there, this is what you do;
Whatever Icon you are using to start TunerStudio, probably on the Start Menu, right click, select Properties.
In Compatibility check “Run this program as Administrator”

Restart TS, you will be prompted.

Then when you start it do a "Check for updates" from the help menu. This time the update will take.

Alternatively, you should be able to uninstall, and install the latest.

There have been quite a few of changes since 0.985.1, so it should be good to get to the latest.
