Eg:
On my AFR gauge I want to have
a yellow low warning range from 12 - 13 as well as from 16 - 17 and
a red high warning range from 10 - 12 as well as from 17 - 20
I then also create an "AFRerror" gauge (the difference between afr1 and afrtgt1) this gauge will also need two low and two high warning ranges.
Is the above possible?
PS: where (which dir) should the appropriate megasquirt-ii.ini file be for TS?
More than one low and high warning range

Re: More than one low and high warning range
Sorry for the slow response, I have been away on vacation this week.
Straight up, it isn't quite straight forward. But I think you can get close within a few constraints.
If you use bar gauges, you could put a couple of them together, or maybe 3 of them. Put them sid by side with no border they will look like one gauge but each have they own critical and warning levels.
To make a gauge renderer that can do this straight up would be pretty simple, once I get my head a bit more above water.
For your AFRerror gauge, you will need to define your own OutputChannel, the colors will still present the problem.
Let me see what I can do for a renderer. Do you have a preference on the gauge style? Is Bar fine or Are you hoping for an analog?

Re: More than one low and high warning range
Sorry forgot that one.PS: where (which dir) should the appropriate megasquirt-ii.ini file be for TS?
It will always land in the subfolder of your project projectCfg.
but you shouldn't put it there directly as the project has to be setup to use it. You should always either select it from "New Project" dialog or "Project Properties" dialog.
If the ini you are using is not in the drop down, click the Other check box and browse to it with the "..." button.
TunerStudio will copy it to your project folder and add the appropriate references.
TunerStudio always keeps everything it needs in the project folder, so you can just copy your project folder to another computer and your ready to go.

I've created the output channel in in the ini file and it has been working well for a long time now in MT but now I can't function without it. If I give the same ini file that MT uses to TS, the gauge gets a big cross over it and clearly does not work. It seems therefore that TS is not happy with this output channel I've created nor the gauge I've defined.
Kind regards

Re: More than one low and high warning range
Your edited ini should be fine.
If the gauge has a big red cross out, that usually means it is not finding the OutputChannel that the gauge has assigned.
Any chance it is no looking at the right ini? Is it the ini in the Project Properties?

Re: More than one low and high warning range
Hi Phil
I'm getting somewhere now. I've worked out that I when creating a new project, I need to use the "other" box and point TS to the megasquirt-ii.ini file that I want it to use (in my original MT project dir). Then the AFRerr gauge comes up and its not crossed out.
I created the project first, then copied the ini file into the TS project and using properties pointed TS to the ini file I wanted it to use but that did not work.
Now another question: How do I get TS to use the custom.ini file that goes with the megasquirt-ii.ini I want it to use? I copied the MT custom.ini file into the TS project dir, changed it but the changes are not shown in the gauges.
