changing pump prime

Post by 62f100 »

is there any way to change the pump prime time to build up more pressure when using a low pressure pump?im using astock ford pump &i have to crank a few times before the pressure builds up.it starts than dies etc...for three or four times with a fuel pressure of 10 psi.after three tries its up to 20psi & idling.

The issue here is not the tuning software but the code, as the pump priming time is not adjustable. You might be best off posting that in one of the code wish list threads.

You could add a pump override push-switch that allows you to turn the pump on manually while the button is pressed.

or instead of cranking the engine , just shut the ignition on and off until you get pressure...

btw: There most be something wrong in your system. It should remain pressurized.
