Telltale Marks on TS Dashboard

Telltale Marks on TS Dashboard

Post by Xplode »

I just downloaded the newest version of the tuner studio software and d*** does it run good! I saw piles of potential back in the original beta release, but man has it come a long way! Props to Phil Tobin!

Ok - now what i would like to know is, can i make the telltale marks on the guages stay longer? I'd like to set it so i records the highest reading for my entire trip - or until i reset the guages somehow. Right now if i do a pull down the track, by the time i get to the return lanes, the marks will be gone. I don't want to look at the guages while i'm pulling off the track. And yes i know i can check the log later, but i'd like to know immediately if anything went too high.

Thanks in advance!

No, it is still fixed. But only because I forgot to put the menu item on to adjust it. I'll put that in now so i don't forget. :)

Is it possible for me to manually change it in an INI file or something? Just until it gets added to the next release?

Actually there is... In the dash file you can change it, but it is at the gauge level not the system or dash level.

I you open your dash file, you main cluster will be in at:
[Your Project older]\dashboard\dashboard.dash

That is in xml, so you can edit it in a text editor. Open it in something like Textpad.

inside you will find this line for every gauge:
<HistoryDelay type="int">15000</HistoryDelay>

The 1500 is for 1500 ms or 15 seconds. If you do a search and replace to say this:

<HistoryDelay type="int">600000</HistoryDelay>

That will make it a 10 minute telltail.

Is there a max value the parameter will accommodate?

Max that will count as a valid telltail value? No, not currently.

There could be if needed. Why?

No real reason other than i don't want to input a value that can't be properly processed by the program or whatever. Might cause some frustration since i want it to last a fair while. Although the 10 minutes thing will work well.

Cheers & Thanks!

It would probably be nice to have an easy way to manually reset the telltail...
