WB delay when analysing

WB delay when analysing

Post by kritip »

I have done a search, and got some info, but im still confused about the dealy.

What i want to know is, what the values correspond. Is it a fixed time delay, and if so, what do the vaue represent in terms of delay.

I have noticed, as im sure other have, delay is greater at low rpm, prob due to exhaust gas velocity. It would be cool to have a delay table or chart, so that you could analyse a whole log without worring about delays over rpm.

Just a though :)

The WB delay changes with setups and like you observed RPM. It does seem to be related more to the exhaust velocity than delays in the sensor itself or circuitry.
On my car with the WB sensor at the collector of 31" long headers with 2 1/8" primaries, the WB delay is pretty much 1 at wide open 5000-7200 RPM, but coming off a over-run condition at 1800 RPM I can see up to 9 records before the AFR responds the injectors coming back on.

I have seen some others with much longer delays, and others where it it seemed shorter..

One of the things in the VE Analyzer improvements coming is to support different WB delay in different sections of the table. Even 4 sections could go a long way, but more may be better yet.
Then I would like to make MLV go through the data to attempt to identify the delay for users, that will take some playing.

Cheers,

for now I sahll just keep manually fiddling. The up and coming features certainly look interesting :)
