losing connection

Post by chris_the_rat »

Hi, I have installed TS but am having trouble with the connection. I have tested both by com1 and also USB device. I get conection but every few seconds it loses contact and then connects again. I attached the TS log file. With MS I have no problems with connection.

Interesting...
Can you zip up your whole project folder and send it to me at p_tobin <at> yahoo.com ?

Now that is interesting... Were you using the same cable? Is it loosing connection while the engine is running or also when it is off?

Yes same cable. From the MS a COM cable runs to a USB converter. Have tested using just the COM cable also. So far I have only tested with the engine off. Since I have the same problem with two different computers I would assume it is a problem in the MS but I have never had (and still dont) have any connection trouble when using Megatune.

If you are connecting with MegaTune you controller must be ok.
TunerStudio is usually more adaptable to various serial than MegaTune, but there are a couple USB to serial connectors that have a problem on TS that work ok with MT. But not as you describe. This would be something new, so I certainly want to known what is going on.
Did you create a project or just open an msq?

On the first test (first computer) I created a project and put an old msq in the directory. On the second computer I installed everything default and just connected to the MS box, no msq in the directory. /Christian
