Very strange issue
Hello
I've got a very strange issue with TunerStudio.
When i create a new project i can connect to my DIYPNP (with MS2extra firmware) all seems to work fine. But if i save it, close TS and launch TS again i've got a message that tell me there are differences between the megasquirt and the project. And ask me to select which one i want to keep.
Attachment is my MSQ file.

Re: Very strange issue
Let me see if I have this right; When you are creating a project you are connecting to a controller, then saving it? Then when restart TS it connects and pops up a different report.
What is it saying the differences are? How many and what settings?

Yes, you're right.
And there is many and many pages of differences.
If i accept the configuration of the controller i've got another page, if i accept again there is another page.. and ever and ever.
Many of settings, and with totally crazy value.
I'll make a print screen later.

Re: Very strange issue
here is the print screen.
The ECU works fine and no configuration error with megatune. For example it's not a rotary engine, and no boost controller configuration was set but the VE table is the good one in the controller except for the rpm and engine load information.

Re: Very strange issue
That table looks really messed up on both the local settings and the controller settings.
I downloaded the msq you have at the beginning of this post, it was saved from MegaTune and has the same sort of corrupt values in it. If you started with that msq, that may be what started the problem.
However, if the controller is working fine, let's try a different approach..
- Close TS
- delete offline.msq from the folder:
[YoutProjectFolder]\projectCfg\
- Start TS
- Connect to the controller
- Save a new msq.
That will let TS start fresh with just what is on the controller.
Check out your settings after doing this and they should all look normal.

Re: Very strange issue
so... i've tested your approach... with no succes
As you can see below there is a problem between my DIYPNP and tunerstudio, all the value move quickly and randomly. This print screen is when I connect to the controller after deleting the file. And if i close and start TS I've got the same error message with differences between controller and software.
The table with all the 43 value on the left is the 'good' one... need some tuning I know. I can't understand why everything is fine with megatune and so much problems with tunerstudio.

Re: Very strange issue
You certainly do seem to have some corrupt data there... On the outpc as well as the data reads, I'm surprised it is ever going on line with all that corruption. Are you getting any signature mismatch error?
Can you zip up your project folder and send it to me at p_tobin@yahoo.com ?
It would also be helpful if you could turn on comm debug from the Communications Menu, then connect to the controller for a few seconds until the dash starts reading, then zip the TunerStudioLogFile.txt in the install dir and zip that up and send that to me as well.

Re: Very strange issue
At first the comm log looked good, but then I saw it started shifting bytes. It looks like it starts getting some reads with the whole block shifted. What serial cable are you using?
Is there any buffer sizes to adjust in the Device Manager? Try turning them to 0 and see if it works clean.
Usually a buffer problem should cause TS to detect and purge orphaned bytes, I'll look to see if I can see why this wouldn't be happening.

Re: Very strange issue
I've tried with every size of buffer and with no buffer. I'm using a simple DB9 to DB9 serial cable with an USB port replicator.
No problems with megatune with this port replicator, and i'm using it in my job to connect to many devices such switchs or routers.
I'll tried to find another USB serial adaptor today to see if it's better.

Re: Very strange issue
so, tested with my home computer (old one with serial port). Everything works fine.
My port replicator is the problem. I'll change it.
Thank you very much for your help

Re: Very strange issue
I guess that is good, but it still seems od if it was working with MegaTune. At least it is working...My port replicator is the problem.
