AEM UEGO calibration

For discussion of Phil Tobin's Tuner Studio software (Only about the tuning software itself, not about how to tune or firmware features)

AEM UEGO calibration

Post by navywings22 »

I have read through many posts and it seems that people using the AEM UEGO AFR gauge are using the "AEM Linear" calibration setting. I was under the impression that this sensor was non-linear. It also seems that most are just guessing on the calibration setting to use. Does anyone know for sure what need to be used in TunerStudio for calibrating an AEM Uego wideband?

The newer AEM UEGO is linear by default, but has a backward compatibility mode for the non-linear output.
The documented linear output is 0-5V = 10:1-20:1 AFR.
But for some reason most users of the AEM UEGO with MS claim that does not match what they are seeing on the AEM gauge, so the linear formula used in TunerStudio and MegaTune is a slight deviation from that.

0V = 9.72:1
5V = 19.61:1

This is what users have found to match their gauge.

I don't have an AEM so I haven't verified it directly.

Ok, yeah I bought my AEM Uego over 2 years ago. It seems to read in line with TS but I haven't put any calibration information in yet. That's why I was wondering what settings people have been using for calibration. So it sounds like the "AEM Linear" option is the one for me then correct?

Thanks for the help

What type of calibration are you looking at?
The Menu?:
Tools --> Calibrate AFR Tables
?

Are you running an MS1 or MS2?

My AEM is probably 3 years old and it's dead accurate with the AEM Linear settings already provided for the MS2. Grounding is very tricky on the AEM though. I moved mine from the chasis alone to the same chasis ground as the MS. Otherwise, it was about 1.0 off.
