That looks almost like my stock dash.

I just picked up a 1990 corvette so the goal was to get as close as possible. It needs more work but I'm not sure how to make the gauges from scratch or the warning lights yet.

Really nice dashboards here to give some great inspiration.
If someone is looking for the standard dash symbols ISO 7000 / IEC60417 which could be converted to indicators, they could be obtained from here
https://www.iso.org/obp/ui/#iso:pub:PUB400008:en
eg
https://www.iso.org/obp/graphics/grs/04 ... 36_200.png
https://www.iso.org/obp/graphics/grs/f5 ... 93_200.png
https://www.iso.org/obp/graphics/grs/ae ... c0_200.png
and modified via colour change etc using GIMP https://www.gimp.org/ or Inkscape https://inkscape.org/en/
saves reinventing the wheel... just come down to painting the wheel the colour finish / transparency you want.

Re: The official "Post your custom-from-scratch dash" thread
I just made a whole bunch of changes to my engine (heads, cam, intakes, headers) so it will probably need a thorough re-tune. I made a first run at a "dyno" screen.
What else would you add to that? And is there a way I can get my gauges to turn red when they hit the low critical? Based on the gauge demo mode, the oil pressure gauge goes red at the high critical value of 80psi, but doesn't turn red at the low critical value of 10psi.

Here are (2) of the dashboards that I have built for my digital dash setup:

Nice work! That 'lambo dash' looks formatting wise a lot like the one I did a few years agostanglx2002 wrote:Here are (2) of the dashboards that I have built for my digital dash setup:

Re: The official "Post your custom-from-scratch dash" thread
Couple of my latest designs..
I reworked my old ferrari inspired dash, made the RPM gauge larger, but in the end I wasn't entirely happy.
So I restarted from the ground up and made this. All the critical indicators are larger, the main info I need to see is clearer.
And I have large hidden overlays for oil/coolant warnings that flash up should there be an issue.

Re: The official "Post your custom-from-scratch dash" thread
Hi all,
There are nice dashboards here!
I'm looking for to create my own VW/AUDI dashboard style.
If i'm not wrong i understood is possible to make a "background" based in a real dashboard picture applying some PHOTOSHOP job?
Moreover can someone give some explanation to how to create light-on/light-off effect to an "Warn Lamp Symbol" (i.e. oil press symbol) ?
Thank's in adv!

Yes, you can make a background of the dashboard design that you would like, and then overlay the gauges on top of the background.DanielBaldim wrote:Hi all,

For the "Warning" symbols you would use an Indicator and set different "On/Off" images.

Re: The official "Post your custom-from-scratch dash" thread
nice!
There is a library of gauge face or specific software to create a base background? or should i dig in google?
about warning symbol you mean that symbol (lighted) should be part of base background and i need to overlay it with a indicator (same color of background) and in a opportune moment make it be trasnparent revealing the lighted symbol?

You can use any image file as a background, which can come from a picture you took, Google, photoshop, etc.DanielBaldim wrote:nice!

The warning symbol typically have an "off" image being the unlighted image, and the "on" image being the lighted image. This is the normal course, but you can put the symbols on the background and then have the "off" image transparent and the "on" image being the lighted symbol.

Here is copy of the revised Lambo dash to make it a little more realistic feeling in my opinion.
Here's the video it you want to see it working: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2iUEkg-hFbs

Re: The official "Post your custom-from-scratch dash" thread
Guys... is there any way to put dots to represent a F1 style shift lights? The only dot I can put is the indicator, but this don't give me any configuration about RPM to light up
My current "Dash" using in my DVD is this:
And a wold like so mutch to put the colored dots from sides to center to show the shift rev time

Re: The official "Post your custom-from-scratch dash" thread
Working on another dash design for a friends turbo track build, just to report the fundamentals of the car, with some hidden big warning indicators that only flash up when something is wrong.
Runs on a pi with 7" screen. The greyed out icons along the bottom are for overboost, low oil pres, CEL, cold temp alert and fan-on indicator.

Re: The official "Post your custom-from-scratch dash" thread
Just to help revive the thread a bit, my current dashes:
Race Mode:
https://youtu.be/85b4F-hbFcQ
Diagnostics Mode:
https://youtu.be/2JZHbiv2xFs
Race dash has "SHIFT NOW" text staged so that I get the SHIFT lit up coming up as a warning and NOW for when I'm just under the limiter. I might convert the NOW to be the output of gear based light triggers once I have working VSS.
Still more work to do (like that I added MAT and Estiamte Intake Temp to see if they were different for some reason, and they werent) but overall now that I'm driving my car more I'm liking these two dashes to cover the vast majority of my needs.

Re: The official "Post your custom-from-scratch dash" thread
Hey everyone, super late to the party on this, but just getting parts together for my build. I was considering using RealDash for my display, but it might be possible to do what I want using tuner studio. My main goals are to have my signal indicators display and gaps maps. Can that be done with tuner studio? I’m going to be using a huge display and would rather not use a second display for maps.
If it’s not custom, I don’t want to hear about it!

Re: The official "Post your custom-from-scratch dash" thread
Just getting started building a custom dash and I wanted to share the background I'm working on. "Mercedes" style. If anyone has some finer perspective halftone dots I'm happy to update it.

Re: The official "Post your custom-from-scratch dash" thread
Here's a pic of my board. I'm having a hard putting custom indicators along with User Action Claxon for out of range for all parameters with a indicator and a mute on long press. I've been playing with it all day. Any good advice?
