That is quite doable.Greg G wrote:Would be cool if TS could support a second screen. Then you could have the static gauges on the second monitor and still tune with the primary screen

The gauges inside the bezel is pretty cool.. It takes a second glance to see they are not real.

Re: The official "Post your custom-from-scratch dash" thread
If I ran the full cluster I would use two screens, something like two 4.5" x 9" or something like that with a car computer. Then just use either a usb or wireless mouse and keyboard to tune with on either a third screen or shut down one of the two screens temporarily. Still something I want to do, but it's low on the project list (and I need to figure out how to convert a VSS signal off the trans into something speedo like and really don't want to loose the odometer function).

just thinking aloud, too bad old smart phones and/or their screens couldn't be re-purposed as individual gauge monitors. I like the bezel in front of the display a lot!

I've contemplated going to a digital dash on my '77 Skylark behind the stock dash cluster trim. This is just playing around against the laptop screen.
Now that would be pretty sweet. Probably would not be difficult to implement, i would use just one screen and center it perfectly.

Last week I ordered a 9"x5" screen to do a half cluster. If I actually get it mounted in the car I'll post up pictures of the results.

Re: The official "Post your custom-from-scratch dash" thread
This is the dash I came up with to tune the newest MS3 MS3x installs I am working on. The car has a Ford MAF built into the intake for testing. Right now it is not controlling fuel. The gauge in the bottom right has Duty Cycle on the perimeter and MAF percent in the center.
I do a similar trick with Target AFR and AFR.

Well, thought I'd give a go. Saw a request for an LFA style dash. I was blown away by the design when I first saw it, so that's what I've done.
I have the background image in C:\Program Files (x86)\EFIAnalytics\TunerStudioMS\Dash\Backgrounds\lfa_dash.jpg However, you can put it anywhere, just update the background location.

Re: The official "Post your custom-from-scratch dash" thread
Yes, any dash is safe in that it can't hurt or change your controller settings. What you may end up with is a few broken gauges or indicators that are assigned to OutputChannels that don't exist for your firmware. These will have a red circle and cross through them. You can fix them by right clicking on them and selecting a valid gauge type.Swagon_wagon wrote:is it safe to load a ms3 dash into a computers using a ms2

Genius that's just like my real dash fancy sharing it?

Re: The official "Post your custom-from-scratch dash" thread
Made this one up tonight. Nothing fancy, just a quick way of getting the info I need in a clear way. Since it's a 1970s British sports car, I thought a wooden dash with black gauges would be fitting.

Re: The official "Post your custom-from-scratch dash" thread
Here is my custom dash(not even sure it could be called custom). Simplistic but gives me all the info I really look for . Im blind in one eye so I have reduced depth perception and find analog gages difficult to see at a glance. Basic readout works for me .P.S. Imagine what its like to try to watch a 3D movie with 1 eye.. It dont work

Re: The official "Post your custom-from-scratch dash" thread
Getting closer to installing the digital cluster. Built a car computer and ran a first pass test the other day and last night I got it to auto-start an ad hoc network so I can remote desktop my laptop into it, which will allow me to make changes to the gauges after it's installed so the bezels covering the various menu's won't be a problem.
Right now its about a 15-20 second lag time from a cold start and I have it timed to stay on for 2 hours after the key is turned off or if battery voltage drops to 11.5v. So stopping for gas, food, etc shouldn't cause it to restart and need another 15-20 seconds unless I'm really stopped for a while. The monitor power will be wired in separately from the computer so it won't be drawing on battery power when the key is off.
