Is there a way to print out a list of settings?

Is there a way to print out a list of settings?
I think if there was a way to list all the variables and settings I would have found problems sooner. It seems I would be a lot easier to refer to a print out rather than hunting a through a lot of tabs. I would have found in the fuel calculator 8 cylinders were put in instead of 6 and I had screwed up some injector definitions a lot easier if they were listed out on paper.

That is on the todo list and should be in a beta soon.

Has this made it to beta yet?
seems like it would be great feature to have when changing firmware

You can load the MSQ file into a text editor like Notepad, and get the settings that way. But a easier way of getting a list would be handy.griffida wrote:Has this made it to release yet. Been waiting a long time?

Re: Is there a way to print out a list of settings?
Thanks DaveEfi, I realise you can list any of the files with Notepad - doesn't help much if you just want a list of TS user settings!
I was hoping to get a comment from Phil, et al?
It seems such an obvious requirement for problem solving, capture, comparison and retention?
Is it still planned?

Generally it isn't needed when changing firmwares.GraemeD wrote:seems like it would be great feature to have when changing firmware
When the firmwares are close enough, TunerStudio can load in your old MSQ and convert the data over. For less similar firmware you can export the fuel and spark tables from the old firmware and import them into the new one.

Re: Is there a way to print out a list of settings?
Hi James, I was really looking for a simple way to list all the User variables/defaults input to my own tune/msq. It would be very useful to simply take a .msq and list only the User settings, not the maps, etc (I have many old msq compiled with continuous tuning and 'scimpy' notes.)

Re: Is there a way to print out a list of settings?
It seems to be in very low demand, but a few people do seem to want this badly..
Now the question, how would you want to view them?
Do you want an online review mode or a print out?
Screenshots of the dialogs?
A real life trouble here is that if you are trying to view all settings in something like an MS, there are a lot of them. You will be printing a book.
If it is a review mode where it takes you through every dialog, there will be a log of them..
I would assume it is safe to filter any not enabled dialogs...

Re: Is there a way to print out a list of settings?
Couldn't it simply be outputted into a CSV format or even something exported into Excel. Easy enough to sort and filter from their. Would probably want the attribute name and data side by side for comparing with other logs through table format.

Re: Is there a way to print out a list of settings?
There are quite a few different types of data. arrays, bit fields, scalers, tables...
Dumping it to a CVS file sounds pretty useless to me.

Re: Is there a way to print out a list of settings?
All of the settings can already be exported... it's called the MSQ file.

Re: Is there a way to print out a list of settings?
It wouldn't be hard at all to write a parser in say Excel that reads a msq annd spits out a spreadsheet with all settings, one page per sheet or so. Not that I need one, but I can see that some find it useful.

Re: Is there a way to print out a list of settings?
The trouble with an msq to excel/csv is that there would be no correlation for tables and curve.
I would think print outs of the dialogs themselves might be more useful perhaps..
Or perhaps be able to print a difference report?
I dunno... I've never been one for needing things on paper, but certainly have known people who like to print just about everything before they read it.
