For a test this morning, I turned off the transition fully to secondays. Ran VEAL live again and it tuned my target of 200kpa this morning. So the function works, just with the primarys on.

on a side note, would be neat to hold the primarys at a specific duty cycle and let the secondarys do all the work.

double side note, I might have enough octane anyways, Im running a 525cc 92 pump injector, and a 1200cc 116 octane race gas injector. With that ratio i could still be in the 112 octane range? Ill have do the math.

It looks like you can see file extensions.

When it stopped working, is any filter showing as on in the lower right?

Ill have to look at lunch today. Your meaning something like the coolant or rpm indicator Im used to seeing?

Did the math on octane, Ill be down in the 109 range, good for maybe 20psi, but not for full power im thinking.

Ill report back at the end of lunch.

even if I have to trend the lower boost areas with both injectors working, stoich is close so overall fueling will be the same, and Ill manually tune the higher boost levels.

Sorry to keep bumping this, I had a thought today during work (not much going on) and lets say the primarys need to be active for veal to work, a workaround could be as simple as a boost check valve on the fpr reference line to the primarys. This would mechanically pull fuel out of the primarys side, while forcing veal to add more 116. And by the time I really need the octane, say 250kpa on up, there wont be much 92 pump gas spraying since fuel pressure would have dropped.

But the primaries shouldn't need be active... The only reason they typically do is because of the expressions in the [VeAnalyzeMap] section of the ini. I'm not quite sure. Perhaps a data log would help.

I can take 2 different log tonight on the way home.

With primarys on, veal works, click primarys off and the indicator says overrun in yellow.

Ahh, The over run filter. That can be disabled too.

Edit that custom.ini, you will see an overrun filter entry for each table. You can comment it out with a ;

Code: Select all

         ;filter = overrunFilter, "Overrun" , pulseWidth1, = , 0, , false

ok, so copy and paste in the overrun filter entry when I open the .ini file.

sounds easy enough.

Actually that entry is already in there 4 times, once for each table.

You need to comment it out under the VE Table 1 and VE Table 3 sections.

To comment it out add the ; to the front.

Its working just fine. Had a quick minute to add them simicolons and warm the oil up. Targeting 180kpa, and 4 pulls show ego correction darn near at 0 now to about 6000rpm. Spot on with my targets. And the rich dip in spool up I had that was a diagonal with varying cell weighting is much more smoother.

Thanks Phil.

need to bump this thread. nate has been helping me with the staged injection and my veal will also not work once the primary's turn off. I table switch to 99 percent it still auto tunes but stops at 100 percent on secondary's , I copied and pasted his custom veal ini to my folder , so I know it the same ini.

I am wondering if it has to do with me using windows 8 , or possible because I don't see main controller ini. I only see main controller.

was their possibly some changes to the last ts update that is preventing veal from working after the primary's turn off?

I have in my project folder
custom.ini
main controller
pcvariablevaules
project.properties
vehical.properties

thanks. I also attached my staged tune

Be sure the way windows likes to hide file extensions from you isn't tricking you about the real file names.

In the dir [YourProjectFolder]/projectCfg/ there should be a file called mainController.ini
exactly like that. If you only see mainController, that is because windows is hiding the extension.

So if custom.ini is in there it will just be called custom with a hidden extension.

If you see mainController with no extension and custom.ini with an extension, then your custom.ini is probably really called custom.ini.ini and won't be found.

It is usually easiest to turn off the Windows "Feature" of hiding extensions.

Agreed, a very bad misfeature which can help the unwitting install viruses.

Find "Folder Options" and untick "Hide extensions for known file types"
