Updating Tuner Studio to 2.6.01

For white a while now, each time I start TS, I’ve been getting a message asking if I want to update TS to 2.6.01.

If I click the update button, the 'update' button TS seems to disappear to a background task but nothing else happens.

If I try to start another copy I get a message saying that there appears to be another instance and do I want to bring it to the foreground.
If I say click 'bring to forground' button, happens.

So for ages I've just not clicked the ‘update’ button because I just wanted to get on with things, but now I’m thinking its about time I get this sorted.

So does anyone know why the Update function seems to do nothing ?

Do you possible have a firewall blocking the download? Or don't have administrative privileges? If you are on win7, you can right click on TS and select run as an admin and try it that way.

I have seen this a lot on W7(64b). Open task manager, enable the command line column. kill one of the java processes, it is obvious from the command line which one, then everything works as it should.

killed the java process and it worked (yes its W7 (64))
