Tuner Studio stops connection.

For discussion of Phil Tobin's Tuner Studio software (Only about the tuning software itself, not about how to tune or firmware features)

Tuner Studio stops connection.

Post by Revving »

I have a MS1 V2.2 Extra running spark.

The VR conditioner is made by me, but the car revs fine and shows the RPM right.
Often, the tuner studio stops working and only has the "not connected" message. The MS continues to working fine.
I need to take cable out and plug again, then it reconnects.

I thought the problem was from the circuit i made, but seems that the true problem is either on pc or cable.

Any thoughts??

It sounds like EM noise is upsetting the serial.
I would look at improving the cables you are using to connect, especially the USB to serial cable if you are using one.

Sorry to reply only now.

I've detached the usb extension which comes with diyautotune conversor and it works better! Although sometimes it still disconnects...

I've wrapped the cable in aluminium foil, because someone said it worked but not realy...

If i buy a ferrite core ring, will it work?
