Auto Tune & Narrow Band 02 ?

For discussion of Phil Tobin's Tuner Studio software (Only about the tuning software itself, not about how to tune or firmware features)

Auto Tune & Narrow Band 02 ?

Post by ErnieJones »

Hello;

I'm about to try out an install of a Microsquirt and am having some issues with getting the proper wide band 02 bung for my application so it looks like my wide-band install might be delayed for a bit.

However, the application does have a stock narrow band sensor. I realize that tuning without the wide-band is not going to be anywhere near precise but my question is, for the time being, can auto tune work with a narrow band 02? Obviously, I would not expect perfection until the WB is installed but, just to get by, can it work?
Thanks you;
Ernie

The only AFR you could possibly target with a narrow band is 14.7. That is all they can measure.
Find the Manuals up top under Quick links: Manuals. :RTFM:

It can indeed. A WB is recommended, but the Narrowband does work. For best results, make sure you have EGO correction on, that helps a good deal when using a narrowband.

Thank you very much - this is a stop-gap measure until I get the proper bung but I want to troubleshoot everything else in the meantime. Good to hear it will work! :yeah!:

You also can mount your WB in remplacment of your narrow one. This is the same bug.
I can supply, repair or upgrade Megasquirts in FRANCE.

Hmmm....I'm looking but can't seem to find that option. Hints?

The latest MSextra (3.2 ?) whatever the latest is is what I installed.

My coil driver circuit is working, my fuel pump is working, my coolant fan is working....looking like blast off in short order !!!! :yeah!:

Need that setting :)

I must be going blind (entirely possible) as I can't seem to see any setting to turn on EGO correction?

The EGO Control Dialog is essentially the settings for EGO Correction. Yours appears to be at the default settings with 15% authority. That should be fine.
