AFR display and Lambda

I have been trying to get my old Innovate LM-1 to match and display a steady AFR on tunerstudio for a while now. I have searched and read many threads about the subject, but have found some conflicting info. Several have said that the PLX 0.0 -5.0 is the correct setting, however in the Innovate manual is states "As factory programmed the first output simulates a typical narrow band oxygen sensor. The second output is programmed to output between 1.0 V for an AFR of 10 (gasoline) and 2.0V for
an AFR of 20. This allows to connect it to a digital voltmeter or panel meter (0.2V input) to show
directly AFR."

This would lead me to think that the Innovate 1.0-2.0 is the correct setting for the LM-1. DIY autotune FAQ's state that 0v = 7.35:1 AFR, and 5v=22.39 AFR) which I tried with the custom calibration on TS also. The custom and PLX settings are fairly stable but do not follow my LM1 display very well, sometimes off two whole points. The 1.0-2.0 setting is fairly close to my LM1 display but is very jumpy, by around a half point. Someone mentioned that switching to the lambda scale made the TS display much better and more accurate, but I don't see any way to do so. I plan on tuning with gas and E 85 so I think the Lambda scale would be better anyhow. Is there a way to make tunerstudio display Lambda on the gauge and AFR table?

How to show in Lambda depends on what MS type & firmware you are using.

Lambda isn't going to be any more steady, it will just display the result of this:

[Current AFR Reading] / 14.7

Assuming gasoline.

Using the 1.0-2.0 V scale can make it jumpier as you are taking away a lot resolution putting the whole scale into a 1 volt range instead of 5.
There are settings in the LC-1 for smoothing as well as in the MS.

I am using a Megasquirt 2 with the 3.3.1 firmware. I know there is a smoothing function in the Innovate data log viewer, but I could not find smoothing function on tunerstudio. I have also slowed the data rate to 1/3 second on the LM-1, which is the slowest offered, with no change. You mentioned that there is smoothing in MS? Could you direct me to the manual which explains more about it? Also I understand that a 0-5v scale would offer more resolution, but if my LM-1 only puts out a 0-2v output I dont see how this could work. This would explain why TS showed me a reasonable rich reading on the 0-5v setting but would not read leaner numbers that my LM-1 would display. Could someone clarify what the definite correct setting is for the LM-1? Maybe the LM-1 is too outdated to work accurately with TS? Do I need a wideband that has an output of 0-5v?

Megasquirt 2, v3.0 board, 3.3.1 firmware. I listed this in my last post, is there something else you are asking for? I'm new to this so bear with me.

Click on the Settings Tab

Under "Oxygen Sensor / Display"
select Lambda

I'm having the same issue. The gauge is accurate but crazy. Where is the smoothing section for the afr gauge in tunerstudio?

Check For Lambda Averaging Lag Factor in general settings.

But that is just a guess because you didn't say what firmware you are running.
