Custom INC for AEM UEGO PN 30-4110 (NON-Linear?)

Custom INC for AEM UEGO PN 30-4110 (NON-Linear?)

Post by CrazyMiata »

Good Day Folks!
I recently acquired a tuned megasquirt with full engine and all the goodies.

It did not come with Wideband so I ordered an AEM UEGO Wideband Part# 30-4110
http://www.aemelectronics.com/?q=produc ... -afr-gauge

It uses the Bosch 4.9 LSU Sensor.

It does not appear to be linear here's the table I got from the manual (you can also save this as a .inc file

Code: Select all

#AEM UEGO PN 30-4110
#Volt	AFR
0.00	10.00
0.16	10.32
0.31	10.62
0.47	10.94
0.62	11.24
0.78	11.56
0.94	11.88
1.09	12.18
1.25	12.50
1.40	12.80
1.56	13.12
1.72	13.44
1.87	13.74
2.03	14.06
2.18	14.36
2.34	14.68
2.50	15.00
2.65	15.30
2.81	15.62
2.96	15.92
3.12	16.24
3.28	16.54
3.43	16.86
3.59	17.18
3.74	17.48
3.90	17.80
4.06	18.10
4.21	18.42
4.37	18.74
4.52	19.04
4.68	19.36
4.84	19.66
4.99	19.98
It's really different to some of the preloaded inc files so i wonder if this is sufficient for an accurate inc file as the two predefined AEM options are no good. They are not accurate for this gauge. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks!

That is indeed linear.

AFR = 10 + (2*O2Volts)

Or: 0-5Volt : 10:1 - 20:1

That selection is in the list of available sensors.

I must be doing something wrong. I have the latest version of tunerstudio registered.
Both the AEM options I tried are off.
Is it under a different name?
Thank you!

[edit]
I tried the custom with two data points and it was still off by about 0.5 AFR. Maybe i used bad reference points?

Is it an MS1 or MS2/MS3?

Its a DIYPNP based on microsquirt with ms2extra. firmware is from late 2012.

The 10:-20:1 settings would be:
"Innovate / PLX 0.0-5.0 10:1-20:1"

AEM probably needs to be added to that label. For some reason AEM seems to have changed their calibration many times. They seem to be using the 10:1-20:1 more commonly now.

The MegaSquirt AFR not quite matching the AEM gauge AFR is somewhat common. I would check that the grounds are common between the Gauge and the MS.

It must be grounds thank you. There's no compensation options correct? Where I can input how much it's off by for correction?

I tried that option right before I saw this post it's about 1 AFR off :( I'll see about my grounds thanks!

No, but to get it to match, you can use the Custom.linear and shift the AFR values you input to shift the calibration.

That's with the two reference points correct? I'll try it again. Thank you so much for the help.

Question: can I use the serial output from the sensor as input for the megasquirt?

I didn't want to create a new topic.

I used stinger 4awg copper stranded cable and created my own grounding kit. I added 4 new grounding points, 1 between negative terminal and chassis, 2 from engine to chassis, and one from alternator to chassis.
I regrounded the ECU and the AEM WB to the SAME ground near the stock ECU Location. It's grounded to chassis.

There is still a voltage difference between the sensor's reading and the megasquirt's reading.

We even went as far as resoldering the WB's connections to the megasquirt.
-The power, is tapped in from the wiring harness going to the megasquirt.
-Ground goes straight to a bolt that's directly on the chassis. It's shared by the ground from the megasquirt wiring harness and and the AEM WB.
-the 5v signal wire on the AEM WB is tapped into the wiring harnesses wire for the stock o2 sensor.

Any ideas on what I should check next?

For me it was a ground issue make sure that you use the same ground as the megasquirt if you want the two to correlate. But when I calibrated the sensor with aems table it was still off so I used the AEM-30-42XX setting and its accurate now although it is a bit laggy

Is this mainly a ground problem with the 4110 not matching the ecu? I first installed a pnp on my 94 mustang and aem 4110 selected the 42xx it was .1 off i ran it that way for a season with no issues. Now that I have rebuild the engine reinstalled all parts as it was before ...now my gauge it bouncing all over the place. at part throttle it seems ok and at idle and under load but it is not correlating correctly after about 15-20min of drive time

Voltage stays around 13.3-13.5

I assume it’s s ground problem
