Tunerstudio freeze to "Loading project"

Hello,

I decided to upgrade from W7 ot W8.1 on my laptop i use for tuning. Now i have re-installed tunerstudios on a fresh W8.1 install, but can't seem to be able to load my previous project.
Importing archieved project works fine. But when it's time to open the project, tunerstudio seems to freeze up to "Loading project" screen. The software itself doesn't actually freeze / crash, all the menus still work and the window is movable / closable. https://imgur.com/dtAGD3q - Picture of the software when "frozen" up.

Im using a mid 2012 macbook air, and running W8.1 as virtual box via Parallels desktop software. The reason im not using osx version of tunerstudio, is that i never managed to get the software identify my megasquirt msextra2 via serial cable.
The project files should be fine, i managed to open them on my PC which is also running W8.1.
I actually installed both, 32bit and 64bit versions of java. Could this be causing the problem?

Stalling part through loading the project is usually from TS starting on the 64 bit JRE.
In the past, TS would always use the 32 bit JRE and not run without it, but they (Microsoft or Oracle) seem to have changed something lately so it does sometimes try to use the 64 bit JRE even though it was started with a 32 bit exe. Which would be fine except for the 32 bit RXTX driver packaged with TS.

Try removing the 64 bit JRE.

Had a feeling it was the 64bit JRE messing things up. Removed and works fine now

The code for the next major release already doesn't care whether it is 32 or 64 bit. So this will no longer be a trouble.

I had the same problem ...

I currently in another state making an installation and forgot my notebook charger at home..

So I instaled JRE 32 bits and tunerstudio in my customer notebook that runs W8 ... and did some pre-instalation setup without trouble.

After the start-up I installed the 64 bits JRE and megalogviewer (64) and tunerstudio died... freeze on project load

Removing the 64 bit JRE does solve the problem...

Or install a current version. For Windows with 2.6.12+ have the JRE built in and will use the built in JRE regardless of what JRE's ar installed, or even if no JRE is installed.

Have the same problem , using an old computer on windows xp 32bits , i was having a tunerstudio prompt update , updated it and then stopped to work, was working fine before update.

Your problem is very doubtfully related to this 7 year old issue.

Please post a new topic with clear description of your issue. Is TS starting at all? Is it hanging when loading the project as above?
Include a TunerStudioAppDebug.txt or Debug Package generated from under the help menu.
