software not working

clean install of win8.1 with avg paid version, java downloaded
tuner studio installed from disk with megasquirt log reader but tuner studio will not load any project. sits forever with approx. 15% blue bar across bottom and will not do anything till it is killed
tried running as administrator, set admin on the exe,
any help appreciated. I will be happy if you can remote in and have a look

brian doesn't look at his private email very often and support does not have MX or A records on the server and my email are coming back
how do I contact anybody about these issues. the dongle doesn't talk to the computer either.....

Gavin has sent me his TunerStudioAppDebug.txt file and the issue is what I suspected.
The currently installed JRE is a 64-bit JRE and TunerStudio needs a 32-bit JRE installed
to run. Also in the latest round of updates from Oracle it seems that even if you have
both the 64 and 32 bit installed TunerStudio will still not run correctly.

To get TS to run correctly you need to uninstall all currently installed JRE versions
then install only the latest 32-bit version and everything should work correctly.

The other options is that Phil just put together a beta Version of TunerStudio that
includes a JRE in the installer, that can be downloaded from the link below.

I can confirm what Brian is saying. Had the same win7 64 and 32 bit java issue.
He and/or Phil narrowed it down for me via email.
Uninstall both, reboot, install 32 bit only. It will work then.

Yes, it seems Oracle has made some changes to the newer JRE's that are causing many people trouble.

Please do try out the beta, that has a JRE bundled so you don't even have to have a JRE installed. It should always use the bundled JRE (1.7_72).

I would like to promote this to stable in short order. Then update MLV the same way so users will no longer need to figure out what a JRE is, 32 bit or 64 bit etc...

I just had the same problem with my tuner studio.. either update( revert back to 7u72) or install the tunerstudio beta... I installed the beta version of tunerstudio and its working... looking forward to the beta megalog viewer... with embedded jre.
