Tune Analyze Live not working steady state??

For discussion of Phil Tobin's Tuner Studio software (Only about the tuning software itself, not about how to tune or firmware features)

Tune Analyze Live not working steady state??

Post by Toma »

I do most my tuning on a dyno, and noticed that if I hold the load so as to track individual cell centers, the numbers change VERY slowly. Like it might take 10 minutes to get from 12:1 to 14.7 lol. I dont think I'm exagerating either.

But if you just drive it through some cells, or drive it up approaching the next cell, the cell you are about to enter changes very very fast.

So, obviously it was designed for the street tuning crowd. Is there something a guy could set to make it change faster steady state? I tried the simple thing on the right "normal", "easy" etc, but no real difference.

Thanks,
Toma

It should tune faster if you are holding on the cell. There must be a filter kicking on.

Does it list any active filter?
Do you have a data log and msq?

No, I don't datalog while doing the VE learn thing generally, but here is the tune file....

Like I said, this one did it too, and numbers change faster in anticipation, rather than when on the cell....

Or maybe a feature like Haltech, holding a cell, you hit "Q" for quick tune, and automatically applies afr target difference percent to the cell you are on.... I dunno.

While its auto tuning is there any yellow active filters lit up on the bottom right? The msq won't show that. I've tuned your way on the dyno showing my buddy how well it worked

Yes, I too tune on the dyno regularly and when held on the cell it dials in faster, as it should.
There must be a filter active. ? Perhaps was it not up to CLT temp?

So, active filters are the 'limits' next to the VE table on the analyze screen, as I recall, under "Advanced" button? No, nothing was active, and the limit values were both still at 50 and 50 (dont remember what they are top of my head).

It can be stuff you set, or others behind the scenes that are active. Like Phil said, if coolant is below your target then in the bottom right it will say cooanlt, or if in decel or others
