Tunerstudio won't connect to the ECU
I have installed all the hardware in my car and is ready to start tuning, but Tunerstudio won't connect to the ECU.
Under Printers and devices I can see there is something connected.
But when trying to detect that something from Tunerstudio, nothing returns.
I have tried fiddling with the settings, but to no avail.
My ECU has both a USB and Serial port. I use the USB port, since there was only a USB cable included. Inside the ECU, I have set the jumper for USB connection.
I have tried two different PCs, but still the same. I suspect that there is something wrong with the USB driver.
Anyone who has a suggestion for another USB driver, or something else to try?

What ECU is this exactly? Could you post a photo of the "USB jumper" ?

It is an MS1. The jumper is in the red circle.

I don't know what you've got there, but it isn't an MS1. Contact whoever built it for what program you should be using to connect to it.

Looks like a counterfeit to me. De-activating poster as per forum policy.

Re: Tunerstudio won't connect to the ECU
Hello all,
I'm having the issue described by the OP with a legit MS3 Pro.
Have connected it via USB, with a registered version of TS 2.6.19.
Downloaded the latest FTDI drivers I could find.
Power In to ECU is connected to 12V supply.
Detect Device prompt spins to no avail
Device Manager sees the FTDI USB connection, and I've changed to COM1 and baud 115200
HP laptop W8.1
I do not know the firmware version on the ECU - attempted to run Firmware Loader, but it does not find the ECU.
No datalogs in my Project folder to share..
How can I confirm the ECU is actually powered on?
Any help appreciated!

Re: Tunerstudio won't connect to the ECU
This probably should be its own thread - it will get more responses that way. But to confirm the MSPNP is powered on, check to make sure it has 5 volts on the VREF wire.rmoehle wrote:Hello all,
