GM1 Bar mapsensor

For discussion of Phil Tobin's Tuner Studio software (Only about the tuning software itself, not about how to tune or firmware features)

GM1 Bar mapsensor

Post by mitsuko »

I have an MS1V2.2 , running exra 029y4a .
Dual fuel , petrol on inj1 and lpg on inj2 .

I use a gm1 bar mapsensor , and set it as mpx4115 in the settings .
Both sensor curves are very close to one another .
The reason for the GM 1Bar is simply because I had a few avaialble .

This works great , and for tuning the fuel maps , it really doesn't make a difference .

But , I would like to have it all spot on .
So is there an easy way to change the mpx4115 to make it read and display correct values .
I guess it will be similar to he gm3bar , but I'm really not good with software , modifying s19 files , inc files etc .

Thx
Pat

Wel yes I did use easytherm for the air and coolant sensors
They're spot on now , both of them .

But I cant seem to figure out how to use it for the map sensor .

Changing sensors is a PITA on Megasquirt-1. (Far better on MS2/MS3.)

Moving to TunerStudio section for advice on what's needed.

I guess that's the price to pay for the simplicity of the MS1 . :D

Here's a voltage vs kpa table for the gm sensors .
I've put it in an excel graph vs the mpx4115 , and there's only a slight difference .

GM 1Bar : 5 volt full sacle gives 105kpa
MPX 4115 : 4.7 volt full scale gives 115kpa .

The graph says it all .

That's why I haven't used or sold MS1 for many years.

If the error is linear, you could edit the ini file to make a correction.
Line 3253:

map = { table(mapADC, "kpafactor4115.inc") }

change to:

map = { table(mapADC, "kpafactor4115.inc") * yourCorrectionFactor }
