connecting through USB
Hi guys, I need your help. I'm installing MS2 into my friends car. For startup I used my own MsNS ecu and everything worked fine, but now as I connect his MS2 tuner studio says it's not connected. I went to communications/settings, scanned and I got this message:
Device search complete! Controllers found 1
D2xx USB and Wireless not available in this edition
any suggestions what shall I do?
Thanks

Re: connecting through USB
Have you followed the "Serial Setup" steps in the "Megasquirt-2 Setting Up" manual ?

Re: connecting through USB
Yes. It's the one called "Manuals" at the top of this page.

Re: connecting through USB
the manual says:
2.7 Get the serial comms set up MS2 and Microsquirt use RS232 serial communications for tuning with a standard DB9 female connector.
Some older or "industrial" type laptops will include a true serial port, most computers only have USB and a
USB-serial adapter will be required. FTDI based cables are recommended.
and
5.4.4 Comms test to Megasquirt / Microsquirt This test requires that firmware is already installed (section 2.. If you are unable to install firmware, then
review the previous sections. Start TunerStudio and open Communications -> Miniterminal. Ensure your Megasquirt is powered and
connected to your computer. Select the port as above (i.e. if your connection was COM5 in device manager, then choose COM5 here.) Select the baud rate 115200. Click to Open the port. In the upper pane, type a capital 'S' and you should see a signature string returned in the lower window as
shown here. If you do not then there is a serial problem somewhere. (The text returned here is the firmware version string, the same as will normally be shown in the TunerStudio
title bar.)
But it did all of this already and as I mentioned I get the message I wrote in my first post.

Re: connecting through USB
to be more clear after all of the steps mentioned above, I go to Communications/settings and push detect I get: Found: MS2extra rel 2.1.0p On RXTX: Port: com3, Baud: 115200
Push accept, then test port and I get Failed.

Re: connecting through USB
Ignore the test fail and continue. For some reason, the test does fail some times even with a valid port.

Sorry could you be more precise? what shall I do?
Remember the com port on laptop works fine. My old MS1 goes ok on the same car on the same port. Only that my friends MS2 does this to me

Re: connecting through USB
To take a com debug log open your project with the power to the ECU off then look under the Communications menu for Comm Debug Log and turn it on. Once you activate the Comm Debug Log switch power to the ECU on, then try to detect the ECU. Once the ECU is found select that option and click accept, after the ECU does not come on line for about 30 - 40s turn off the Comm Debug Log. The data from the Comm Debug log gets saved in the TunerStudioAppDebug.txt file that by default will be located in your TunerStudioProjects folder. You can attach the TunerStudioAppDebug.txt file to your next post or email it to me at support@efianalytics.com.
Re: connecting through USB
I've sent the file to you Brian, but attaching it here too
Thanks
