Help with 'squirts/cycle' setting

Post by gtmdriver »

This is my first Megasquirt install and I am fitting it to an aircooled 1600cc Twin Port Aircooled Beetle engine using individual injectors for each port.

I understand how the number of cycles and the simultaneous and alternate functions work. I just need some advice on which combination is the most suitable for a low revving 4 cylinder even fire 4 stroke engine like mine.

Any suggestions?

above all, play around with it, see what works best with your setup.

I believe you'd use alternate and 2 squirts per cycle -- i'm assuming you dont have a cam signal.

Thanks for that.

Definitely no cam signal.

4 squirts alternating provide equal fueling for all 4 cylinders, you have to wire injectors 1 and 4 to one channel and injectors 2 and 3 to other. assuming 1-3-4-2 firing order..

Air cooled VW is 1432 so pair 1-3 and 2-4.
MS3+X on 73 Karmann Ghia ignition only with LS2 truck coils firing in sequential, fuel next.
2333(103*70) Type 4 with DTM also sitting in living room just need exhaust.

I was beginning to come around to that idea too (but with the pairing 1/3, 2/4 as DeadStiff said).

Thank you all for that information.
