TunerStudio 3 Beta is up.

For discussion of Phil Tobin's Tuner Studio software (Only about the tuning software itself, not about how to tune or firmware features)

Looks great, nice work
But it seems that the VE table in 3D View is mirrored not like that other tables

Just created a Dashboard and when transfered to Shadow Dash MS, it will change the gauges values.

Yes... I actually had the new dashboard framework in Shadow Dash, but then needed to make changes before the release to keep the new TS and old TS from breaking each others dashboards. Hench I need to port that over to SD as well as add the new gauge renderers

sorry for the confusion, maybe the the picture below will illustrate the problem better:
http://i1164.photobucket.com/albums/q56 ... 3zhblq.jpg
the picture on the left is take from the TS 3 and the right one from TS 2.19 as you can see the table is mirrored in the Y-axis (map) in the 3D view, this can only be seen for the ve1 table.

*edit: sorry my bad, i rotated the graph few times, and now the graph is back to normal

Hi Phil
Current Tune and Restore Points. I made a few input variable changes and used the burn, save file button, but did not actually have the changes invoked.I make changes to the projects current tune offline and then connect to the ecu it will produce a difference report and you have to choose to use the settings in the ecu or tuner studio settings. What ever you choose will then become current tune. I have tried to send the new settings to the ecu it will not change the ecu settings. F/W Ms1 extra Hr11c2 and 029y4a Please Help :?

Feedback on 2.9.105

Tested on Windows 10, java 1.8.

1) Dashboard when a gauge properties dialog is selected, it is raised at the top of the display and the windows frame header is not shown.
If i jiggle the size of the dialog slightly, the windows frame header is then shown - so I can get to the [x] close button. This is improved from earlier 2.9.10x releases where initially the dialog was not populated when initially raised (dialog was blank white) and I needed to request file->exit and cancel the exit to get back to the application.

2) Has something changed on the gauge transparencies implementation when using overlays?
After upgrade from 104 to 105, a gauge on my dash lost it's needle. After playing a bit it looks like transparency faces are not allowing underlying needles nor display indicator values through - however other gauge faces and borders are showing through the transparency fine. If I shift the overlay down, I would also lose the 0 r/min value display. The large RPM gauge is made of a few overlays but the MAP gauge to the lower right is a simple non modified gauge. [Not sure but order forward/backward might not be working while bring to front and back seems fine]

Found a bug:

In the Tuning/Dyno View there are always ALL options available, even when it should be deactivated.

When i add for example the Traction Control Settings to the Tuning/Dyno View, it's ignoring to hide the Slip-Threshold Input, even when Slip Setting is set to Adjustable.
When i simultanous open the "normal" Setting panel, everything is okay.

See picture in the attachement

Its the same for the other setting panels.

1) I was not aware of an issue with the Designer Mode Properties dialog, but I did just reproduce it on a small screen laptop. I usually edit my dashboards on a PC and let dropbox move them to the tuning laptop.

2) Not so much transparencies, but the whole painting framework changed to make it more efficient, up to 50% less CPU usage depending on the dash layout. Part of that is when painting the needles, the space taken by any gauges on top is clipped. I can change that to not clip a gauge area if transparent for today's build. If that doesn't do it, I can put an option to paint in the old fashion.

since the last update today there is a bug in the "Tuner Table" View.

It only shows 3D Tables (For Example VE-Table)
But no 2D-Tables like barometric correction, small pulsewidth curce etc."

Before the update, it there was no problem.

And i tried the firmware tool today maybe 10 times.
Mostly it worked like it should. Be twice it showed directly on the beginning and error with the old calibrations or some thing like this.
Then it still loads the new firmware. But after that you get a ini error (dont remember exaclty) Something with "ini not in a row". Then there is a prompt to select a new ini.
Tried every ini i found but nothing works. Then i have to use the created .tsproj backup and create a new project (or at least a project with a new name).
Then its working again.

Are you on 2.9.105 or 2.9.106?
I'm not seeing this, it is listing all the tables fine.
Is this in designer mode?
What firmware are you using?

When i posted i was on 2.9.105.
After your post i searched for update and it downloaded 106.
But the problem is still there

Its in both modes, so in designer mode and in the normal mode.

Firmware is compiled 1.4.0 source code (Ini says MSFormat 0523.15). Only change is in the ms3_user.c. But nothing big, just using some outpc variables to get out some further variables to tunerstudio.
But today in the morning it was working with the same custom firmware.

I've put two pictures in the attachement. Its the same for all 2D-Tables.
Only 3D-Works. And makes no difference if MS3 is connected or not.

I was upgrading from the MS3 1.4.0 source code to another source code version. I just changed minor things, to get decimal places in tunerstudio.
(Value *10)
But the firmware was loaded successfull. It was just the problem with my old project and Tuner Studio.
And after restoring the backup into a new project (made just before the firmware upload) its working again.
The second time this happened, i just started the megasquirt before the flasing process. But there were still maybe 6 seconds before i started the update firmware utility. Dont know if there is a connection. When it happened the first time i dont remember any special circumstance.

And a nother thing i noticed, is that TunerStudio becomes extreme slowly, when i open the designer mode when the megasquirt is still connected.
The Data rate shown is still the same. But everything seems very laggy. And when you try to move a gauge, its nearly impossible.
Then i just unplug the usb cable and its much faster.

Thanks for the quick turn-around!

1) Designer mode properties dialog now displays properly when raised.

2) The transparency is working better but there is still one small element blocking pass through, see the image below:

A minor menu and location issue:

o Accel Enrich (EAE table ordering)
EAE Sucked/Adhered Coefficients menu item should be moved to slot above
EAE Adhere-to-walls RPM Correction menu item
o Basic/Load Settings->Fan Control
Idle-up Duty(%) and Idle-up Target Increase(rpm) should be shown (duplicated?)
on the Idle control dialog.

This sounds unrelated to TunerStudio. Those menu items are defined by the firmware developers in the ini file.

Today i was able to reproduce the mentioned error with the firmware loader.
It seems only to occur when you start the utility in a short time after you turned the megasquirt on.

So today i connected MS to the power source, waited until tuner studio connected and showed all the values.
Then i directly started the firmware utility.
While "Preserving Sensor Calibration and Tune Data" there came the info box "Could not complete due to the following errors: Unable to communicate with the controller".

This time i tried something different after the message: I clicked on Back, and then again on next, then it was able to do everything correct.
Yesterday i just clicked on next after the message showed up, then the firmware was loaded to the megasquirt too, but my project was screwed up.

So it seems like you have to wait some time (For safety lets say at least 30s) before you start the firmware loader.

Speedy, I see you mean Curve graphs are not showing up, I am reproducing that.
That will be fixed in today's release.
