Default Tuning & Dyno Views for TS3 beta
The new Tuning & Dyno views allow you to put pretty much any set of gauges and settings you want on a single tab. The Idea is you can build a tab for specific types of tuning or tuning activities.
http://www.efianalytics.com/TunerStudio/beta/
Much like the dashboards, there is a Designer Mode that is activated by right clicking or using the menu:
File --> Tuning Views --> Designer Mode
Once in designer mode, you can add as many or few of these as needed to create the view you want:
- Settings Panel - This allows you to put any settings panel from any of the dialogs you would normally use through the menu buttons.
- Tuning Table - Similar to a Settings Panel, except this only allows Tables and Curve graphs. This is preferred for tables as it will allow you to stretch or shrink the table to the size you need with no scroll bars like the Settings Panel would have if the panel doesn't fit in the set space.
- Gauge Cluster - A standard Gauge Cluster as would be found on the front tab, but here you can add multiple and set each to just a small region.
- Table Cross Cell Cross Hair - By assigning this widget to a table, it will show how centered you are on a particular cell while tuning.
- Burn Button - Well it's a Burn Button.
If you create or edit a view, it is all saved to a single .tuneView file, so can easily be shared or moved to another project or computer.
For those that have been trying out the beta and the Ultra trial, you have seen the new Tuning & Dyno Views. There are some basic default Tuning Views, but I would like to get some more together before the release. MS3 probably has the best set now, so below are screen shots of the current set. Before the release, we will adapt the full default set to any of the firmwares that it is applicable and makes sense.
The Point in this post
What specific views would also be handy to include with the defaults?
What information and settings would you want on those?

Choice. I will be using this.
Is the menu's available only when the ecu is connected? Mine appears greyed out. Registered version but not Ultra trial. Vehicle is in another location.

You need to get the TS Ultra Trial registration by clicking in the top right corner of the start up page if you have a normal registration:suberimakuri wrote:Choice. I will be using this.

This worked great a couple weekends ago when we were tuning a buddy's datsun for cruising speeds. One feature I'd love to see added that I couldn't find in dyno mode is a "follow" feature for the active bin. A "lock bin" feature for the cross hair could be helpful as well, it would keep the crosshair on the bin you're tuning.
Just a couple thoughts.

Do you mean have the selection moves to follow the active running position on 2D tables like it does on the 3D tables? One feature I'd love to see added that I couldn't find in dyno mode is a "follow" feature for the active bin.
Not sure I follow. Not show how locked on you are, but actively keep it locked? How would that work?A "lock bin" feature for the cross hair could be helpful as well, it would keep the crosshair on the bin you're tuning.

Exactly. That way you would only need to get the crosshairs centered, tune that bin, then move to the next bin without using the arrow keys.LT401Vette wrote:Do you mean have the selection moves to follow the active running position on 2D tables like it does on the 3D tables? One feature I'd love to see added that I couldn't find in dyno mode is a "follow" feature for the active bin.
Instead of jumping to the next active bin shown in the crosshairs if you blip the throttle or get the revs too high/low, it would keep the bin you're working on in the crosshairs no matter where in the map you are. It'd just make it easier to find yourself again.LT401Vette wrote:Not sure I follow. Not show how locked on you are, but actively keep it locked? Where are the default views stored? I think I messed up my installation because when I create a new project I get 8 tabs with multiple duplicates.

Re: Default Tuning & Dyno Views for TS3 beta
[TunerStudioInstallDir]/TuneView/
That has all the defaults for all firmwares. TS filters based on signature to get down to the ones for your firmware and copies those to the dir:
[YoutProjectFolder]/TunerView/
So when you open a project, it only references what is in the Projects TunerView folder, it doesn't look back at the install folder unless there are no TuneViews in the project, then it will bring out the defaults.
