TS 3 bug: Direct entry in cells in tables

Post by subwoofer »

This must be a bug, or at least it shouldn't be intended behaviour. When typing contents in one cell of a table, one would expect that a mouse click on e.g. a neighbouring cell would select that cell for editing. It does not, it just commits the contents you typed and leaves the cell you just edited selected. You have to click (mouse) twice to select the cell you intend to move to. TS 2 did not exhibit this behaviour, I think.

For the sake of completeness, observed in 2.9.117 here too, but I think it may have been like that since the first TS 3 beta.

Yes, that appears to be an unintentional side effect.

VE, AFR target and spark tables work as they should, Crank Taper (and probably all the others that look the same) does not.

Seeing that that widget is brand new to 2.9, it is probably safe to say it has always worked this way.

also directly entering a negative number is impossible. if you highlight a cell and hit"-" then number it pulls up a subtract from dialog.

Interesting conflict... The minus button has always brought up the subtract dialog, but I guess there aren't many tables with a negative value.

nope not many places, only thing i can think of is clt temp, and adaptive idle spark but older versions of ts allowed this on 2d graphs

There is still an issue with 2.9.118

If you select a cell in 2D tables and start typing, the value change. Then you press tab to go to the next cell. The next cell is highlighted but the focus is stil on the previous one and if you start typing again, the text still appear in the previous cell...

This is really annoying.
