Downloading the installer is the right move.
But it sounds like the installer download failed too..

Internet troubles?

I would try downloading the installer again, perhaps from the other location...
It is in 2 places:

http://www.tunerstudio.com/index.php/downloads
and
http://www.efianalytics.com/TunerStudio/download/

Got same issue on auto-update today, didn't have time then to do anything, grabbed spare laptop and turned off wifi first...

Hi

I have the same issue.

I have downloaded the auto-update yesterday and now I can't open Tunerstudio. I have W10, too.

I have no idea what I have to do.

Regards.

I just tried again on same machine (another OS install) and it worked, so YMMV.
(I had it work and choke on Win10 and Linux, same 2 machines, multiple OS installs)

Probably best to just manually DL the installer or Linux archive for now and turn off updates until resolved.

Now I'm starting to get curious... Going from 2.6.x to 3.0.x is a big update, easier for something to get interrupted.

The 3.0.x to 3.0.x updates are relatively small and hundreds of people have updated no problem, but the failure rate does seem to be higher than usual. It seems there is some factor here.

I'm glad I put off updating until I was at a stable tune. I got the same error on a Win7 64 intel i7 laptop -"Invalid or corrupt jarfile TunerStudioMS.jar" after answering the update offer upon TunerStudio start.
Tried updating my Java & some re-starts after, no good.
Scary, as both my cars are on MS3 and are never fully tuned....

Manual update from the website worked fine, although I always worry about losing my registration info!
It seems like the last update not to long ago went through just fine via the in-program prompt for me.

Same problem updating from 3.0.9 to 3.0.10 on Linux Mint.
Downloaded installer and everything was fine.

Just wanted to chime in I had the same issue using the auto update. Using a download from EFI works fine.

I still need to do this update although I don't think thee is much benefit for my use (MSPNP v3.57 + TS 3.0.14). Hopefully, it fixes some of the issues with Gauges & Shadow dash as I can't seem to create the same displays as everyone else. Maybe its a short between seat and keyboard.

It all seems to work fine if you just download the new version from his website and install.

I have not had any more update issues since I posted, probably 3-4 updates since.

The whole networking thing looks bulletproof these days but can still suffer from glitches...
Yahoo! doesn't even need to be involved.

I was having network/data corruption issues on a recent "insider' build of Win10, downloads and updates always got corrupted, wired or wireless--- only on one machine too, my old X300 worked fine on same build.
Reverted it back to previous build, then it updated fine and working well on latest builds.

The latest release 3.0.15 performs checksums and partial file retries. So even if you are on a crappy network, updates from 3.0.15 forward should be rare to fail.
