unexpected error opening project in TS 3.0.10

Post by arhoch »

I'm getting an "unexpected error opening project" message. I'm running TS 3.0.10. It will allow me to open a new project and connect to the ecu, but will not allow me to open a current project. It appears to happen after Windows 10 does an update and shuts the system down to complete the update. What would you like me to send to see what is going on. Thanks. Randy Hoch

It sounds like your project.properties file for the project got corrupted.

I'll bet if you check the file:
[YourTunerStudioProjectDir]/projectCfg/project.properties

it is 0 bytes... Everytime you close a project that file gets over-written with an updated version. The Windows update shut down probably cut it off before finished..

See if you can recover an earlier version of that file through windows explorer, or you will need to start a new project..

I think for the next release i am going to make it save a backup/fall back of that file before over-writing it.

Thanks Phil. That is exactly what I found. I will remember to close Tuner Studio each time after using it and then I shouldn't have it shut down abruptly by an update.
