userAliases.txt not read by TS

I'm using TS Ultra v3.0.14.02 on MacOs Sierra 10.12.1

When I open TS, my custom names for the programmable on/off outputs no longer appear. I have no idea since when this is.
When manually editing userAliases.txt, the custom names appear correctly in TS, however when I change them in TS, the txt file is not updated.
Is this a bug or a problem with my mac?

Edited to add that I also tried it on Windows 10 Enterprise 64 and there it works fine.
On Windows I'm using my 2nd license (non-ultra) and TS v3.0.14.02

If it is on a MAC, I bet it is not getting saved when you exit the app using the MAC menu... That sort of cuts the app off at the knees and it doesn't do a normal close.
There is a shut down hook in there, but that sometimes causes a thread lock where the app doesn't exit and won't auto update. So currently it is handling the the close separately in the shut down hook and probably not notifying that bugger so it will save... I'll have to have a look..
It does seem to be working fine on Windows.
