Connection Trouble, MS Labs MS2E

Connection Trouble, MS Labs MS2E

Post by RockHead »

I'm struggling unsuccessfully to connect to a used MS Labs MS2E in my Mazdaspeed Miata. I've searched, read & followed as much relevant troubleshooting info here as I could find.

I have the correct INI file directly from Reverent. But TS will not connect with the MS.
-I'm using the FTDI serial to USB adapter directly into the laptop
-Device Manager shows it working correctly
-When setting up a new TS project, I get a successful test
-In project settings, when I click "Detect", TS finds TWO controllers (?) See screenshot
-In the Communication menu, Setting and Data Rate are grayed out. See screenshot
-Apparently, I failed to record a connection datalog when I tried. Or I'm looking in the wrong place

I'm at a loss for how to proceed with any further troubleshooting. Please help!!

Did you open TS with the start icon, or did you double click an msq?

Typically the only way Communication settings is grey out is if there is no project open or a temp project is open.

Always opening TS with a desktop start icon. Not even trying to open an MSQ file yet.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled TS from a fresh download as well.

The detecting it twice in the Firmware Loader is normal, it is detecting it via virtual com port and direct D2XX.

The only logic on greying the menu is if it there is no project loaded or a temp project is loaded. Otherwise it will be enabled.

Can you make a Debug Package and post or email it to support <at> efianalytics. com with a link to this thread.

To make a Debug Package:

- Open your project
- From the Main menu:
Help --> Create TunerStudio Debug Package

That will Make a TunerStudioDebugPackage.zip file and place it on your desktop.

Note: You must be on TunerStudio 3.0.20 or higher to have the Create Debug Package menu.

Updated TS. Debug logs attached.

Still no connection and Grayed out Communications menu items. Odd that TS never shows any previous projects. I recall finding a thread here about where Windows was putting project files causing a problem. But they seem to be in /UserX/Documents. But I'm finding other replicas elsewhere... I suspect that there may be a clue in that??

I also tried going to Advanced Port Settings and changing latency to 1, per the documentation. Sill no luck.

Doesn't look like that worked. File size too big at 900 Kb. Emailing
