Bootload jumper needed with integrated firmware update?

Bootload jumper needed with integrated firmware update?
If I use the integrated firmware loader in the current version of Tunerstudio, do I need to use the bootloader jumper on my microsquirt/MSPNP board? I have reason to think my firmware is corrupt and I want to reflash the board.

Re: Bootload jumper needed with integrated firmware update?
The firmware loading process is the same, it just has a easier to use graphical interface. So, the boot jumper is needed in the same conditions (or not) as before.
The boot jumper only needs to be used if the firmware is totally corrupted and cannot be communicated with or if MS2/BG firmware has been loaded.

Re: Bootload jumper needed with integrated firmware update?
Thanks. I wasn't able to use the integrated firmware update. I got the message unknown monitor? I was able to reflash using the ms2loader_win32 without using the bootload jumper.

Please could you post more details so the TunerStudio developers can investigate.

Re: Bootload jumper needed with integrated firmware update?
As James said, you should only need a boot jumper if it had B&G Firmware on it or the firmware on it was corrupt enough it couldn't properly communicate.
Any idea what firmware you were installing and what was already on it?

Re: Bootload jumper needed with integrated firmware update?
I'm using Ms2/extra 3.4.2 on an older MSPNP system with the v1.1 Microsquirt board. I wanted to reflash the existing firmware because I suspected that it was corrupt. Probably doesn't matter, but I have registered copy of Tunerstudio running on a Dell laptop with Windows 10.

Re: Bootload jumper needed with integrated firmware update?
This unknown monitor issue is killing me. 3.4.2 firmware with 3.0.22 tuner studio. I feel like my firmware is corrupt because I can't change ignition timing when I change trigger angles (optical). No matter what I do the coil fires based only on physical changes (clocking distributor). It's like megasquirt is just instant firing. I hooked timing light to coil secondary wire to be sure it wasn't the cap and rotor.
I feel I need a jumper firmware flash but you guys say that is unnecessary.
