Tuning VE/burn stumble

Post by gjestico »

Hello,
I just got running a new project, LS1 V8. I am tuning the VE map at the idle areas. When I make a change to any individual cell, The "burn" icon lights up. But I notice if I change that cell and hit enter, The change seems to take effect immediately (based on engine response) even without hitting Burn. Hitting Burn results in a burn stumble that usually kills the engine at this low rpm.
Am I right to assume changing the numbers in the cell and hitting enter updates it to the Msquirt without the requirement to hit Burn ?

It's my understanding that it will make the changes so you see results real-time but will not save to the ECU unless you burn. So you can go through and change 50 cells in the table and get good results but if you don't burn, it'll all be lose when you shut the car down.

As soon as you make a change to your VE table in TS, it is sent to the controller and and held in RAM, thus used by the firmware.

The burn is to write ti to flash so it will still be there after a power cycle or page change.
